keep saying that out loud and they might start to sell the patches aswell..... it was that kind of thinking that made these cost money.

i just wish ppl would understand that...

The Challenger and the Leopard don't even look like that high of quality. Mods like USI and Project Reality are producing higher quality stuff... Sounds stupid IMO. Project Reality is including Europeans if I am not mistaken, and there are lots of other mods that are too.

And only being able to buy it online is another mistake... I would rather pay the extra 5-10 bucks and buy it in the stores. The whole thing sounds ridiculous to me.

we thought the same thing about SF, but its available...i think SF and BF2 should be two totally different games... if i get killed another F2000 GL i am going to go postal....

Although I really, really don't like the idea of booster packs, I am pretty sure I will dish out the ten dollars for this. Hell, if only to finally get to play as the french in a freaking modern game(Come on, nobody else uses the Famas really... so woot for french spec ops). I wish they would have put in the Mirage 2000 though. That and the typhoon are/will be the most common european aircraft(France, Greece, and other nations use the 2000, so it would likely be used).

Anyways, at least we will finally see the Eryx being used by the right people!

Edit: Will be mad to see the anti-tank using the P90, though. France doesn't use the P90 for its army, and France is really the only european country to use the Eryx atm, with the exception of Sweden I believe, who doesn't use the P90 either.

Edit2: Bah, the Famas is of the F1 variety. It will be a rare sight in 2010+ to see any Famas in the F1 config, all being G2 or higher presumably.

I don't see what the big deal about credit cards are.

I dont know about other countries, but here in california, I have a free checking account at my local bank. I guess it has to do with me being a student, but still. I put the meager money I get from my job in there, and my debit card allows me to buy stuff online when I want.

Its really easy to get one here.

Also, in what language is the new army gonna use?

You make it sound like these mods (PoE, DCon etc...) have the rights to the vehicles and content in this make believe online war of a game :)

DC is a direct result of BF2, which, in a sense is DCon.

                  Scumbags? Cmon' now be realistic.

Looks to me like EA is trying to compete with the mod community...

What I don't understand is why is EA encouraging the mod community to develop and at the same time release these kinds of "booster packs"? I would be very concerned if I were doing a mod based in the "near future" time era. I wouldn’t like the idea of directly competing with EA’s current and future releases...

I believe that if a mod wants to have a chance of some kind of success, they better be really good at game design (building fun maps), and not just cool looking vehicles...

im gonna buy this it looks awesome, the P90 but if the P90 is the Anti-tank class submachine gun its going to cain the other sub-machineguns but no matter , it will still be awesome, as it will put in a new army so BF2 will have something fresh and new to play around with although for $10 i guess its not too bad

Heh, there is no competition. Mods > Expansions + Booster packs.

Many of us agree with you but ranking is a factor that shouldnt be forgotten. Mods arent ranked . For those of us who like to play and actually have our time count for / toward something this is a major factor.

yeah the mods for bf2 look and sound like they are alot better than the game itself.

in bf1942 i didn play alot of mods because the game itself was hell of a fun game, but with bf2 its different...

i thank all the modders that are making mods for bf2 and say GOOD JOB!!

When I first read about this, I thought:
                                1. What the @#$% is a booster?
                                2. Europe? Yeah, I'm listening.
                                3. Not available in stores, only credit card? pfft.
                                4. They're releasing two???? No....@#$%n way.

It's absured, they shouldn't release two boosters, rather just 1 mini expansion pack. Or, EA should be resonable (hehe, that'll be the day) and just release the new things in an update. Bloody hell, are there going to be any NORMAL BF2 servers left after all this? Or will there be no room with all these "booster" and "expansion" releases aiming to empty the pockets of the innocent Battlefield 2 obsessed gamers?

I've said it before and by God I'll say it again...Come on EA.
