    OH MY GOD!!!!!!

If they restrict the ammount of missiles on an attack heli i hope that they lowered the ammount of damage it takes to shoot down a blackhawk, and if they lowered the distance on a tv missile i hope it is more accurate, or this patch is just useless.

How much more accurate do you want the TV missile to be?!? It's freaking guideable, doesn't get much more accurate then that.

Just because you don't know how to use it, doesn't mean its inacurate.

Re: Battlefield 2 v1.2 Patch Information

I don't understand the negativity people have towards this patch. Less skill this less skill that. The attack helo's will only have 8 missiles per reload cycle. Quite frankly that means those players that just fire in a long forward line will have to use more skill to hit a target precisely. That's a good thing. Less skill for jets? You really can't miss with a bomber, if you do you really don't need to be flying. Fighters are already more difficult against ground because there primarily designed to fight OTHER fighters. I understand the no jumping and firing. One part of me thinkgs the fun factor will diminish but the decision was based on an much greater exploit of it. The same with DDings and the prone stuff. All you lame, dude and gay speaking people need to look at the much bigger picture.
Just look at the stats of the top ranked players. Most of them whore vehicles like nobodies business. That says something about the unbalanced nature of the paper/rock/scissors idea the creators originally had. So when all is said and done I think that the fun factor that was found before will be simply replaced with a different kind of fun that will be fair for everyone. Habits are hard to break and real skill already avoids most of the exploits that there attempting to fix.

Well I rather do without the patch. We're all gonna lose too much for the sake of a few bunny hopping noobs.

I can deal with them on the field. I dont need a stinking patch !!!

Seems like we gain a whole lot, better AA, better infantry combat, better accuracy on some weapons, weaker airpower... yeah all good stuff, imo.

I wish they had said something, but in the end we all know the release dates for these patches are always put off.

wow, i love the sounds of everything but the helo restrictment. Why do they have to limit the ammount of missiles to 8. I hope they make them more powerful. When im in a MEC of PLA chopper it takes more than 8 missiles to take down a blackhawk, ill need a good gunner, or just any gunner from now on. Other than that this patch sounds good. Going around in karkand with a tank will be easier now because when you go to shoot people they wont be bunny hoppin or dolphin diving.

And another good thing is the shock paddles will recharge will hostlered, witch is a very good thing because when im a medic and i revive someone then hoslter the paddles and take a gun out and go revive someone else, i have to wait ofr the things to recharge wich could mean being killed while wating.

Yeah, Medic whoring will be much easier. Playing support will be much easier. DAO-12 close combat will be much easier too.

For some reason, i don't think they will affect the accuracy of the unlockable weapons at all.

It's either one extreme or another for them. Now I've heard you cannot jump and throw grenades, how lame is that. GGz EA.

Helicopter now carry 8 missiles rather than 14

The reason behind this was "The developer felt like it". Wtf. What is this going to help? Helicopter pilots are going to have a harder time taking down vehicles. That's about it.
The only possible upside to this might be a greater dependence on the gunner. If that is an upside

TV-Guided missile n ow have a shorter range

Fair enough if the idea is to remove an exploit. No great loss, though I believe it will prevent TV Missile pros from taking down transport helos at long range.

Hit points on all air vehicles has been reduced

Again, not necessary. It seemed ok how it was. Just lessens the effectiveness of helicopters in general.
Not a problem for planes. Plane's don't get hit if the pilot doesn't want to be.

AA missile lock has been improved

I'm assuming this means it locks on faster? Pointless.
How about making an ground to air missile that's actually capable of hitting a goddamned plane.

Support kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy

Adjusted how? There didn't seem to be a problem.

Sniper kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy

Again, adjusted how? Lower maximum accuracy? Higher accuracy for the SVD and the Type 88? What's being changed?
They better not make my m24 innacurate, otherwise I won't be able to snipe the noobs off the machineguns in Wake *shifty eyes*

Anti-Tank kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy

I'd imagine this is referring to the SMG's. Probably an upgrade to the accuracy? Let's hope. Might be able to actually hit something with the bloody popgun of an mp5.

"Dolphin Diving" is no longer possible

Thankyou to whoever finally got it together and decided to do something about it. I was so sick of facing up against a guy who has perfect accuracy, despite diving, having hit the ground, and sometimes rolling sideways. Just didn't make sense.

Players can no longer jump and shoot at the same time

Awesome sauce. No more bunnyhopping for the assualtists and their noob tubes. However, it still doesn't fix the problem of the Spec Ops player with the shiny g36c who can jump around untill he doesn't feel like it anymore, then just pop you in the face.

                                "Prone Spamming" is now fixed

Ok. Good. I'm still doubtful about their definition of 'fixed' though.

                                "Sprint exploit" is now fixed

Noone seems to know wtf this is/was. Probably for the best. Whatever the case, if it's one less exploit, great.

Reload while sprint ing has been enabled

You could do that anyway. You just start reloading -then- sprint.

                                Damage decreased for the M134

Assuming that this is the Blackhawk's minugun, unnecessary. Tell you what would create difficulty? Increased accuracy. Spraying in one spot is a hell of a lot harder than spraying everywhere. It was like this in DC. It was good.

Medic defibrillator paddles have been adjusted. They now reload while not in use.

Coolies. More frequent reviving for me. Not sure if it's for the best or not, but I suppose you could put forward the realism arguement.

Now, for what they -should- change.

                                - Make missiles that are capable of hitting a plane. Give the missiles a proximity detonation, and make it area of effect based. Easy.

                                - Take away the FAV and the DPV's perfectly accurate machineguns. Why was this created in the first place? Sure they can still be accurate, but not perfectly accurate, for god sake. If you strapped a scope on one of these things, you'd be unstoppable.

                                - Give the m24, SVD and the M95 better crosshairs. Not better accuracy, not better damage, better, finer crosshairs. The m95 especially is only very slightly less accurate than the m24, but this is escalated to no end by its bulky crosshairs.

                                - Make the more things cause death, less things cause critical wounding. You can't shock paddle a gaping hole to the head. I know that game's not about realism, but things like that are just stupid.

                                - Stop people from shooting their own comrades in the face with an m95 for getting in a plane/helicopter first. It's not cool, it shouldn't happen, and a small penalty to the offender's score doesn't make enough difference to dissuade them.

                                - Ability for anyone to disarm a claymore, be it yours or someone else's. If you manage to work your way behind a planted claymore, you shouldn't have to use a grenade to get rid of it.

That'll be all for now. Cheers to anyone who bothered to read all of that

                                /endrant
