Re: Get Paid to Play BF2 Interview

I don't it will change much. People still aren't going to a have a good reason to get into my server. There are so many servers any more and not enough players!! As they said, some people would rent ranked servers and all but then have to cancel it because there were not enough poeple. I don't think this help much - but we'll see.

        Im 20.

        I just bought a 7800gtx card.
ive got a rig that runs bf2 on full (everything max)
        i have a 10mb cable connection.

I get £10,000 a year as part of my apprentiship.... (not rich)

you dont need to be "rich" to have a computer that runs bf2 well, and those that do have the money are working for it.

Those without money play it just the same if not more.

Re: Get Paid to Play BF2 Interview

Hello everyone. I am VP of Software Development for MyInternetServices and am currently spearheading this project in the development process. I figured I'd hop in here and answer any questions you guys may have and also respond to some very valid comments made by the posters above.

Just a note to all, we aren't only going to track our own servers. If you own a server, you can sign your server up. That way, if you're in a clan and play on your server constantly, it wouldn't hurt to sign your server up. Your clan members can agree that if any of them win, the proceeds would go to the server fund.

Also, for those concerned about security, we will never ask for you Battlefield 2 login information. All that we require is your Battlefield 2 nickname so that we know who to track. You do not have to be in our system to play. All that you need to do is sign up, enter your Battlefield 2 nickname and play on the servers (which you can join through All Seeing Eye, the BF2 server list, or any other server browser). The servers you play on are submitted by community admins and have no affiliation with us, thus there are no patches installed on their servers. At the moment, servers will be required to be ranked, so no server modifications can be made. When you log in to our system, your connection will secured via AES-256 bit encryption.

If you are having trouble populating your server, this is definitely the place for you to go.

Server administrators will be able to define the type of server that they run. For example, if your server promotes tactical teamwork, you would check that off. In contrast, if your server promotes laid back all out craziness, you would check that off. Some players want to hop in and play, while others like slow movement and a touch of chess-like strategy. Currently, the only way you'll know what kind of server you're playing on is when you played on it for a while. We aim to change this... allowing people to have a much better selection for their server needs. There are many features like this on the way, so stay tuned for that.

Regarding lag, we're going to do our best to make sure that you can connect to a server close to you. We are currently discussing the best method to do this but, in any case, servers will be indexed by their location at a minimum. This can be retrieved via the IP address of the server.

So basically you get prizes for playing the most hours per month?
Yes, but you don't need to play the most to qualify for the drawing.

The top 3 players with the most hours will recieve a $50 next month.

Anyone who plays more than 12 hours for the month will be automatically entered in a drawing to win prizes. The upcoming tracking month will including an ATI X800 video card, $200 cash and an IPOD Nano.

I was going to join this but said meh... I won't be picked I know that.
The drawing is done by a pretty complex algorithm that I wrote myself. We will ensure that it is as random as possible.

Even if you do not win, joining is free and you are still playing BF2 right? Join up, find a server based on your preference (read above), track how long you play on your favorite servers, and frag happily :) No loss, right?

Guess this is for the people who play Bf2 non stop and don't get out much ?
Nope, this was created to give server administrators a place to fill up their servers and give players the chance to win prizes for doing what they love to do... playing. Rest assured that you will find a server that will cater to your style of play.. at which point you are playing just like you would before. Instead this time, you get to win something for it.

I just wish they could give away a 7800 GTX.
Prizes change every month. Who knows, maybe the 7800 GTX is a distinct possibility.

            sounds legit and fun.

if they would have paid u just for playing then i would think thats not legit but thats not the case here. im joinin.
            Awesome sig :)

So basically whoever plays the most gets the 50 and anyone over the 12 hour gets to be in a draw ?

                          Yes.

Six or more prizes are given out each month. The monthly drawings are given out randomly. Any player that plays the minimum 12 hours each month will be entered into these three drawings. A cash award of $50 will be given to the first, second and third best timings. During the month we will chose players to win smaller prizes like headsets, keyboard and other miscellaneous gamer gear.

Sounds like a good idea...what kind of software do you have to run while playing BF2 to keep track of how much we play? How much system resources will it use up?

No third party software needed. All you need to do is sign up. The players do not need any 3rd party software, nor do the servers being tracked.
