Has anyone given thought to the fact that the new expansion/mod will patch the game even more than the patch did. Hopefully towards the better? I have no problem with purchasing an expansion as long as it's reasonably priced. I figure $29.00 is kind of high but in the ballpark with other expansions, i.e. Doom. When is it due to hit the shelves or be available by internet?

I dont know if i'll get it yet as the game still crashes on me at times with a b.s.o.d . But its only £14.99 here in the UK, half the usual going rate for full games.

you know whats anoying? listening to everyone complain about all the buggs that EA has to fix. EA doesnt have to fix anything. We don't pay a monthly service like many other games online. The only money that EA gets is by...surprise... selling expansion packs!!! So instead of complaining, buy the expansion and then maybe all the buggs will get fixed.

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about when they say that things in the expansion were "supposed" to be in the game already. Did EA send you an e-mail full of promises?? Just because some of the groundwork was already layed out for the expansion doesn't mean anything.

take a look at early interviews with the devs, and early screenshots of BF2, it's like taking out some of the vehicles that r in BF2 right now, and unlocks.....and putting them into an expansion....

I for one will buy this expansion pack because I love everything about BF2 with/without the patches so no matter the price i will buy it

Jesus, you guys are so paranoid about EA that it makes me sick. Play the damn game. Don't bother buying the expansion - fine. Get left behind in the dust while we enjoy the new maps, guns, and various other goodies.

I don't think I'm going to be getting this expansion here. Not out of any EA/Dice hate or nothing, but because it looks like it's the same thing as BF2. I'm not really looking to spend money to play the same game. Granted new maps and times of day may be interesting, but if that's all there is to it they can keep it.

There's no mods coming out for BF2 any time soon. The closest thing we have for a taste is a "beta" release of "Tactical Crap". Also, don't forget that 3/4 of the so-called mods coming out are going to be cancelled or never-released. So, don't claim mods are gonna blow an expansion out of the water, especially when half the mods that DO come out will be garbage anyway.

Who cares about EA. I could give a less of a damn, as long as I have a fun game to play. Special Forces sounds fun, and I love the BF2 engine. So I'll buy Special Forces.

Also, Special Forces is made by a different group of people than the original BF2.

There's no conspiracy, or evil monopoly out to get you. Shut down your SETI-AT-HOME, and uninstall your Linux, that you only installed in the first place because you think Bill Gates is in league with the Swamp Monster. Get a life.

erm....yes they technically do HAVE to fix these things...... unless they want their reputation for game production to go downhill dramatically. Quite simply, if they don't fix these small issues, it will be the first and last EA game I ever buy, and I'm sure I'm not the only person who's fed up with EA's incompetence.
