i played yesterday and killed on a ranked server and still haven't gotten my promotions. argh. sucks. and it lags a bit.

how do i get my promotions? i have 8900 points and i've killed on a ranked server and still didn't get my promotions yet? what do i have to do?

You have to hit yourself with a blunt object. Only then will EA grant you your new rank.

Man what an improvement this patch has, it's like playing a new game. What I love is the fact that each control point now has a name so squad leader's requesting orders, artillary, supply drop and UAV, etc. no longer says things like "Hey Commander, can you please give me a supply drop over at the place with the big thing next to it, Ummm... It looks like a silo or something?"

So far so good. There are bugs but I like what it has done to improve the game.

Im an experienced pilot both Jets and Helicopters....... and im constantly getting shot down now cause the PHUCKING FLARES dont even work now the missles are soo accurate. They home in on you like littlebastard Darts.

oh, boo hoo, welcome to the "phucking" game. It is too bad you can jump in the jet and play the who game without being touched. Have you thought that someone running across the ground had to put up with getting shot at?

I agree with both sides of the ranking arguement. However, my two cents is this; It's funny to see people with lower ranks killing those with higher ranks while using the guns they use too. I hope that makes sense????

But he's right though - experienced gamers obviously (and quite rightly) have an advantage over the newbs because they know the maps and are experienced in the nuances of the game - with the weapon unlocks they are at an even greater advantage.

With the old points system it was goin to take me months at my current playing rate to get my next unlock - this way I get my new weapon in a reasonable time(which is way more fun for me and makes me play more).

The thing is, so do the hardcores - they get more unlocks faster too, so the balance is still in their favour (as it should be) - but the newbs have a light at the end of the tunnel instead of at the end of the very very long dark tunnel of doom.

And the top ranks are still miles away so the hardcores still have something to aim for - the only downside will be when the unlocks run out for them I suppose.

I wouldn't be supprised if some of us "low" rank players are far more skilled at the game than the high rank players anyways. I stress the word SOME. Most of your lower ranked players round 8k-10k points are probably better all rounds players and have a handle on most guns and maps.

The unlocked guns are not always better and all depends on how you want to play (defence or attack) and what team you are.

I can guarentee ALOT of the high rank players only play certain maps (or played on the knife/pistol only maps) repetitivly where as the rest play all the maps (except I rarely play zatar I hate that map LOL).

Most of us have put the hard yards in as infantry using all the weapons and skills. Whereas others tend to ONLY use vehicles (namely the tank jets or blackhawk). I really don't mind attack heli's (only vehicle whores hate attack choppers).

Luckily its all for the fun. And the new rank system is fun orientated and customised to the average player and not the grief players.

i do that, i play on a ranked server and finish the round and nothing happens. and its been like 24 hours since i got the patch and ive been playin and its not goin up or updating

Is it possible that you are connecting to an unpatched (ie. still on v1.02) server?

Just got out of a game that wasn't registering points for flag captures. Nice job on the $hit patch.

Shut the hell up noob......... i never said once that all i do is fly around, im an all around bf2 player. If you dont believe me go look at my stats, im on the ground just as much as im in the air.

So please remove your foot from your mouth and kill yourself promptly.:hmm:
