Yeah, I agree. If the control points had to be taken sequentially, you'd get some really fun huge battles. As it is now in BF2, all you get for a whole map is just a series of minor skirmishes...

That would be incredibly lame. What you are asking for is having deathmatch at the spawnpoints. I like the idea that BF2 has strategy, and that you have to think a little.

There was something about a supply-line mode, which sounds cool. So you'd have to defend all of your spawn points. Too many games are like Whack-a-mole right now, although it's gotten better lately.

The no Tk for Arty is gonna be bad... very very bad...

I think everyone is misunderstanding the no TK for arty change, or maybe I am. The way I understand it is that commanders will still get TKs for artilery, but people won't have the option of punishing for it.

Looks like they've made that part up. And the first annoucement says a possibility of today from the source we've all seen.

I think it's safe to say, possibly today but don't hold your breath on it.
