What the hell do you want them to do ? Come and apologize to you for whatever?! Well, actually they already DID do that in this announcement. They also woved to increase number of ranked servers. I think the reponse of EA/DICE despite it being holiday season in Europe has been great. Give the guys a break, looking at your sigs, they have given you double digit HOURS of entertainment for 50 bucks. That is NOT expensive.
      Whos complaining? Are you dyslexic?

Give the guys a break. This announcement is as community friendly as we could dream of. What would YOU do in their shoes? :hmm:
My comment is bases on past experiences, in other words the two previous (crappy) patches that did more harm then good. So don't give me your pseudo sarcasm.

Besides that, EA doesn't deserve a break. They are a multi million dollar corporation which is supposed to deliver quality products of the highest standards. They also have experiences with BFV and BF42 so I expect more for my 54 euro.

This patch seems to address a lot of concerns players have had, and it shows EA are listening to the comunity.

I love the Idea that Spec-ops are going to get rewarded for blowing up the commanders stuff, only problem I can see is you will get commanders having a hell of a time getting people to repair them, as of now in a normal game i have spent ages asking people to repair my stuff but all they want to do is go kill as it takes awhile for the stuff to repair and they only get 1 repair point where as they could get 2 or more kills in the same time thus getting 4 points. Commanders are going to have a bad time with this. But I agree Spec-ops should get a reward.

I'd like to see the patch first before I comment on the rest, and there will be complaints as normal, but after time they will die down as people get used to playing with the new patch. :)

Actually a lot of commanders repair their assets by doing supply drops on them. This can make the situation worse for them though. Yesterday I was camped out keeping the enemy arty out of commission. Whenever the commander would supply drop I would C4 the guns, resupply myself.....then BOOOM! and go back to hiding. Worked several times before the commander had an LAV babysit the repairs. Of course the only LAV stayed about 2 minutes then left and it was business as usual.

Funny that most people who complain about BF2 actually conspicuously admit they haven't bought the game somewhere in their reply!

Many HUD improvements - see the names of others in your vehicle, zoom level changing depending on vehicle, map zoom depending on map setup (16, 32 or 64 player map) etc.
Teamkilling changes – the logic of how teamkills are tracked will be changed.
Gameplay tweaks - the way transport helicopters work will be tweaked.
Additional scoring changes - players who destroy an enemy commander's assets will be given points.
The post also noted new US and European servers going live, and promised several more to go live with in the coming weeks. Take a look at the forum post and all the juicy details here.

Goto C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Local\Default and look at the .con files that are there. FavouriteServers.con seems to reside there, and looks something like this:

                      rem ** Favourite servers
                      LocalProfile.addFavouriteServer "127.0.0.1" 1024 "hostname 1"
                      LocalProfile.addFavouriteServer "127.0.0.2" 1025 "hostname 2"
                      LocalProfile.addFavouriteServer "127.0.0.3" 1026 "hostname 3"
                      LocalProfile.addFavouriteServer "127.0.0.4" 1027 "hostname 4"

                      ServerHistory.con:

                      rem ** Server History
                      LocalProfile.addServerHistory "127.0.0.1" 1024 "hostname 1" 5

A lot of this already has placeholders in the game from the release, which means they were only halfway completed. Also in one of thoe settings where the crosshair color, squadmember tag color, etc. can be found, there's an option that looks like this: GeneralSettings.setBuddytagColor 0 0 0

Plenty of these fixes won't take long at all as they're already hiding in the game, only halfway complete and with placeholders because the game was built with them in mind, but they just weren't finished for whatever the reason. If they did it with BF1942, it can't be that hard in BF2. =/

OK point farmers, ya better hurry up because you only have one month left to unlock everything.

Pffft, point farming changes are worthless without a point reset. It just sucks that it would screw those that actually earned their points.

I wish they would remove the disc check from the effing game. I am getting tired of swapping DVDs.

This is the kind of support I expect from a games publisher!

In recent years the lack of "after release support" towards a so could finished product, from all games publishers has sadly been missing from all the major publishers and therefore affecting there future sales.

I hope that the players of BF2 realise what EA is offering them!?

Also I hope that EA realise "NOW" that this "IS" the way to treat there customer base for "after release support".

I for one am well impressed with the speed of EA's support with this game and therefore will get my support and my $ £ purchasing there products in the future!

                          A BIG THANK YOU, EA!

In the demo it did, don't think it ever did in the full game though.

What the fix for the point farmers is, is it basicly looks at how many kills or revives you got. Like if it sees you getting revives one after another after another it will kick and ban you. Or when it sees you knifeing the same person right after another it will kick and ban you. So as long as you dont revive the same person 1 sec after they are killed then you will be fine.
