I agree...cheating sucks and what's the point.

Way off topic here.... but it's about whether or not one was raised right. Example: Kids come to your door (real story) and ask for money for Katrina aid. They seem like good kids and are all about helping. You give them $20. They could go blow it on candy at 7/11 or they can give it for Katrina relief. Now, I can worry about where it went, but the point is they either did the right thing or they didn't. If they didn't, then they have to live with it and probably end up "paying" for it with their conscience. That's the same here. If you cheat, you have to live with yourself.
You made the right call.

That would be awsome. What class would u want to pick as a career? I would proboly pick spec ops or sniper. I am good with both, and spec-forces I dominate with. Most likely spec-forces. But do u mean like a 3rd unlock or what exactly because there are already unlocks for every kit. Well looking foward to the new patch.

I find it curious that so many people say they don't care about the stats but on the other hand are so ademend about removing the stats system or a reset. If you don't care about the stats, why care about whether they exist at all?

I for one do care about my stats but I don't point farm. Stats give a personal connection and a sense of accomplishment. In my opinion it's one of the best features of BF2...

I for one, would love to see it removed. Reset is fine too (the more often it's reset the better!) I don't like it. It discourages teamplay and encourages people to do the things that get them points. I often play as Special Ops and quickly take out the enemy commanders command assets. Do I get points for it? No. Do I care? No. It's all about the teamplay and winning the game. The vast majority of the time I'm at or near the bottom for stats, but I'm generally a big help to my team and that's what counts.

This game is so much more fun when you can get people to play as a team. I wish more people would discover this!

WAY too many people play just to get the stats. I get so sick and tired of going to a new server only to find players point farming or when you get there they only want to play with knives because they want their useless knife badge. Sadly pretty ribbons and points distract from the real point of the game -TEAMPLAY. WAY too many people are attracted to this like fish to a flashy lure.

I understand what you say by the sense of accomplishment thing, but look at it from this perspective. Should you really feel a sense of accomplishment if you get a bright shinny ribbon but your team looses?

i can see your point about people not playing as a team, but I think it's fixable and I believe they are going to address the point whores. I read somewhere that they are likely going to limit the number of times and the ways each member can perform a task. I think it would be very easy to tweak it so that the priority does get back to killing the enemy and taking flags. If I were in control (haha) I would give more points for flag capture, destroying enemy equipment, and repairing friendly equip (art and UAV etc) than they receive now, and cap total non flag/kill points to say 20.

That would certainly help. I agree that they will fix it -some of it. Unfortunately there is no way to make a fair point system. No matter how involved they get it's just too complicated to tell who did what and why sometimes. For example the other day I intentionally rammed a Humvee with 4 people in it to get the kill. He was trying to avoid me. I didn't get the kill. The driver of the Humvee did. He also got 3 TKs. It's just impossible to award points fairly and for every little thing you can do that does help your team.

I would be more in favor of points however if they would just make it where you got more of them for being a good teamplayer and it in fact got people to play that way. Sadly I have yet to see this.

I did the same i was getting the BSOD with it and everything else runs sweet as a nut.

seems to be something to do with the commander screen call up kill the computer, not all the time but i think i'll wait the few weeks for the patch.

any new news on it?

September 23rd now---How about a new patch?? One concern that I've not seen here in the forums is the following:
While in the server browser--If I press the refresh button more than 4 times, All of the servers dissapear!! I then have to shut the game off and turn it back on just to see the server's!! ---WTF is up with that lameness????? Anyone else have this problem??

Frustrated in Michigan....

I hate all of you punishers!!! Sometimes it's unintentional!! Idiots...

Just click the tab for single player, then go back to multiplayer and you will be able to refresh the list again.
