Those who purchase Alan Wake new will receive the first add-on pack for free from Remedy. Yes, just as the case has been with Mass Effect 2 and other recent titles, the first DLC is free but only if you purchase the game brand-new. Used purchasers will have to pay extra for the DLC if they want to enjoy it.
New purchases will receive a redeemable code in their box that can be redeemed once the add-on content is released on the Live Marketplace. This code comes in both the standard edition of the game and the limited edition.
