Valve has kicked their Left 4 Dead development into overdrive. First pumping out Left 4 Dead 2 just a year after the release of the first game and now it's the freshly announced Left 4 Dead 3: Midnight Riders, slated for release later this year along side Portal 2.
Left 4 Dead 3: Midnight Riders places you in the worn out shoes of either Ox, Smitty, Jake, or Dusty. Look for it this November, exclusively on the PlayStation 3 platform.
Left 4 Dead 3 boycott members have stated that they will begin to form protest groups just as soon as they finish pre-ordering the game.
- AI Director 2.7: Advanced technology dubbed "The AI Director" drove L4D2’s unique gameplay - customizing enemy population, effects, and music, based upon the players’ performance. L4D 3 features "The AI Director 2.7" which expands the Director’s ability to customize the amount of HDR bloom from "blinding" to "surface of the sun", the frequency of "tattoo parlor" power up locations, and the frequency at which both roadies & groupies appear to help the rockers.
- Removal of all melee weapons.
- Weapons now include a "death glare", fists of fury, and the occasional pyrotechnic for dispatching larges groups of Infected.
- Four different survivors. New Story. No mindless chit-chat. Plenty of Rock.
- Far less content than the first two games. Left 4 Dead 3 consists of lounging in one spot for hours at a time, playing cards with your band-mates, drinking beer, and occasionally killing off a stray infected that happens upon your secluded mansion hidden inside Mount St. Helens.
- It will be a "full sequel" and will thus go for "full retail" price.
