Love it or loathe it, the launch of Modern Warfare 2 is already one of the largest game launches ever. Just from a random skimming of forum posts around the Net many retailers had hundreds of people eagerly awaiting the game's release.
One such location in PA had 700 people waiting in line, reports one GameStop employee. Of those 700, 475 were picking up the Xbox 360 version of the game, 200 were there for the PlayStation 3, and the rest were there for the Wii (MW Reflex) and PC. Roughly 40 of those 700 sales were for the $150 (USD) Prestige Edition of the game.
Police had to be called in to control the line. People came dressed up in full camo gear with Airsoft rifles, and freebies were distributed. Yours truly was not at any midnight launch, but perhaps you were.
For those of you who attended a midnight launch, what was the turnout like at your location?
