Left 4 Dead 2 Demo Now Available to All

Valve has just announced that the Left 4 Dead 2 public demo is now available to all PC gamers and Xbox 360 owners.
Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the availability of the Left 4 Dead 2 demo to all PC gamers and all Xbox LIVE Gold Members.

The Left 4 Dead 2 demo features gameplay taken from "The Parish" campaign, set in the New Orleans French Quarter. Playable by 1 to 4 players over local or Internet connections on both the Xbox 360 and PC (with two-player split screen available on the Xbox 360), the demo features all the new boss infected zombies and many of the new melee weapons included in the full product.

Coming exclusively to Xbox 360 and PC, L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-operative action games and become one of 2009's marquee titles. Set for release on November 17, the title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaws, frying pans, axes, baseball bats, and more.

With the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.

Adding new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original, featuring more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, new Survival maps, and the new competitive game mode, Scavenge, all available at launch.

If you haven't pre-ordered now is your chance to grab the demo and enjoy!

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 Demo Now Available to All

I really hate it when it says creators of Counter-Strike...., Source indeed Counter-Strike No.

But back to Left 4 Dead 2 Demo, I have been playing it for a couple of hours now and can say it is a vast improvement on Left 4 Dead, For the most part I think that everything in Left 4 Dead 2 was pre-planned, I cant see how they have done all that effort and to keep with a 12 month deadline?, it seems too far fetched, unless it was already in the making...

Other then having to buy a completely different game, I can see that it is truly worth the money, the visuals are the best i have ever seen from any Source game, im still amazed how they have even done it and the scale of the landscapes/surroundings are just a sight that really opens your eyes to what Valve is trying to achieve with the Source engine and the game, I was really impressed with how well my system coped with the game even with antialiasing x4 and anisotropic filtering x4 the game just runs excellent, Altho i cant seem to figure out why the game runs better with multicore disabled?, Just like L4D did when it first came out, But aside from that little hicup, I was pleasantly surprised with everything i have seen from the demo and it left me wanting more from the game.

Well Done Valve you have actually restored abit of my faith in you, After being Left 4 Dead.... :)
