Unreal Tournament 3 - Free Weekend!

Epic and Valve are serving up another free weekend for Unreal Tournament 3! Gamers who do not yet own the title can begin their massive pre-load right now in anticipation of the festivities.

The free weekend kicks off on Thursday at 1PM (PDT; 8PM GMT). It will run all through the weekend. For those who already own the game, you may get a little satisfaction in kicking the ass of the new players who are participating in the free event. This is assuming you get some sort of sick glee in that.

Really, nothing about UT3 itself appeals to me as a game, but the modding scene has really taken off and is second only to Valve's modding community. We'll see if they make a tempting offer on the sale price afterward.

I've always held UT as my favorite fantasy shooter; I got UT3 for my ps3 for $13, and damn, it's awesome being able to load in mods (btw, look for Snowreal Mod) as well as use my bluetooth keyboard + mouse for play.

Picked it up for $8 once I got the crash during cinematics bug fixed on the free version.
