    Crytek Threatens to Leave Germany

</div>Germany, the land of beer, a sordid past, and extreme censorship. It is for at least one of these reasons that game developer, Crytek, is now weighing their options.

As you may remember, German law officials have been making huge pushes to ban the production of violent video games. This proposal, if passed, would make game development at Crytek quite difficult.
"A ban on action games in Germany is concerning us because it is essentially like banning the German artists that create them,” Yerli told PC Games. “If the German creative community can't effectively participate in one of the most important cultural mediums of our future, we will be forced to relocate to other countries.

"The current political discussion will deprive German talent of its place on the global game development stage, and deprive German consumers of entertainment that is considered safe and fun around the world," he added.
A petition against the proposal has already been signed by over 64,000 German residents, prompting the German parliament to consider reviewing the ban.

as much as i am for Video games in all i just have to be say it how it is

there Argument to re-legalize violent video games is weak

i think they could come up with something better than just that

but i hope they do win they just need a new attack on it that's all

So let me get this straight, German politicians are OK with porn companies -- within their vicinities -- making classical titles such as "Man fucks chicken" and "Woman nailed by horse" but when it comes to virtual pixelated violence, they bitch and moan about it?

yup, because they feel that their kids are going to do violent crimes and have violent criminals. I can say I'm happy there isn't so much censorship here in the US, but if you look at us also, we are control with censorship, but not as bad. It will be a sad day when world governments are running censorship on games and the place who live there .
