The DICE and EA developed download-only title, Battlefield 1943, has managed to pick up 80,000 new owners after just one day of sales. Furthermore, these figures are only for the Xbox Live Arcade version of the title. Sales figures for the PlayStation Network version are not yet available.
This overwhelming sales response has actually led to a few server woes for gamers. Day 1 sales resulted in overloaded servers as the demand for the game far surpassed estimates made by either EA or DICE. Fortunately, more servers have been added and additional issues are starting to be resolved. Keep an eye on this thread for all of the latest updates.
