Deathmatch to Single Player Mapping Competition Begins

Phillip of PlanetPhillip fame, has kicked off the DM2SP website. DM2SP is a site that pushes map makers to convert Half-Life 2 Deathmatch maps into single-player maps. To light a fire under the idea, a competition has begun and begins today!
The objective of the site is to encourage, cajole and blackmail modders into converting DeathMatch maps for Half-Life 2 into simple Single Player maps. Hence the name DM2SP!

As well as launching the website a competition has been announced with current maximum prize fund of $140 dollars.

The competition starts today and last entries will be accepted 11:59PM GMT 31 July 2009

The winners will be announced on 16th August 2009.

First place will earn an easy $80, second will pick up $40, and third collects $20. These prizes are provided under the assumption that at least 30 entries are submitted. Fewer entries yields a lower prize payout, so be sure and get your friends, family, and loved ones to convert those maps!

Contestands have until the end of the day on July 31 to get their submissions in. For all of the rules, information, and details surrounding the competition head on over to the DM2SP website.

If you want a little more info on what they're looking for, Phillip was on Podcast17 discussing this recently:

I'm also briefly in there as well, but that's not important right now. :) Sounds like an interesting competition, hopefully some fun conversions come from it.
