NEOTOKYO Makes with the Hints Prior to Release

The NEOTOKYO mod is all geared up for its debut release, and a series of helpful tips are now available to give you a jump start on what to expect from the game mechanics. These handy tips will appear in-game but can be viewed now to ramp up your excitement for the mod.

As far as development goes... the mod is essentially done. We've just got a few things to tidy up (double checking to make sure maps don't have problems like not enough spawns for large player counts, working with server admins to see if their admin tools are essentially compatible with NT, fine tuning a couple weapons for balance, etc..) We're also going to try and get the word out a little more aggressively by doing the usual PR stuffzzzzz.

Hopefully soon we can get a proper official tutorial going, and some announcements/info (max player recommendation, release map list, server stuff, last of the media, etc...) As soon as we've locked down these things, we'll post it up.

Many more hints and tips can be found on the mod's special "Noob Hints" page. We'll have more information on the Half-Life 2 modification as it is revealed.

I think I'm the biggest fan of these guys i first saw them on moddb in 2004 and have ever since went to there website at least once a week for the past 5 years I have been dying to play because this feels like the next big mod hit like (Counter-Strike and Natural Selection). Because i have the same feel with this game/mod as i did with those two and i have the same amount of excitement.

Shouldn't the Ghost really be referred to as the Shell? Assuming it's making the obvious reference...

Anyway, nice collection of tips here. I hope Neotokyo does well -- so many really cool multiplayer mods have seen their communities disappear within a few weeks of initial release, and it'd be a pity to have that happen with a game that looks this polished.
