E3 is literally right around the corner and the rumor mill is in full swing. The latest rumor for "reveals" to be shown at E3 comes from Destructoid and concerns Left 4 Dead and a "very reliable source."
Said "reliable source" states that Valve and Electronic Arts are set to reveal Left 4 Dead 2 at E3 next week.
The source goes on to say that Left 4 Dead 2, or L4D^2 as I'd like to call it, will come with new guns, new melee weapons (baseball bat, axe, chainsaw, and others), and at least one new boss infected. The new boss infected will supposedly be "big" and "fast."
CS-Nation's take is that this information, should it turn out to be even partially true, will end up being nothing more than an expansion, an update, or a piece of DLC for the current Left 4 Dead. The timing screams "too soon" since the release of the first game for Valve to pump out a full fledged sequel already.
Frankly, an E3 reveal of Episode 3 seems far more plausible. Even a mention or glimpse at a potential sequel to Portal or an update to Counter-Strike seem like they would be more plausible at this point than a sequel to Left 4 Dead. With E3 just days away now, it will be very interesting to see what Valve actually has in store for us.
