Killing Floor SDK, Mapping Guide, and Patch Information

Killing Floor was just released yesterday and already the team from Tripwire Interactive has gotten out the game's SDK, a mapping guide, and are hard at work on the most critical bugs.

The Killing Floor SDK can be found under the "Tools" section within Steam. You can also launch it by going to the following in your Explorer window:
    \steamapps\common\killingfloor\System\KFEd.exe

The mapping guide itself is also sitting on your computer and can be found in the following location:
    \steamapps\common\killingfloor\MappingGuide

As for those pesky bugs, have no fears as the team is on the case for those too. The "Day 1 Fixlist" contains a list of bugs and issues that the team is actively working to fix. These aren't all of the known bugs that the team is aware of, but they are the ones that will be fixed first.

The list of planned fixes for the first patch can be found after the jump. This patch will arrive "as soon as possible."<!--more-->
    Server Browser Issues
    • When someone tries to host a server in game a message will pop up to tell them which ports must be opened on their firewall for other players to connect. YOU DO NOT NEED TO OPEN PORTS UNLESS YOU ARE TRYING TO HOST A SERVER.
    • Servers that cannot be reached because they are behind a firewall will show up with a ping of 9999 in the server browser. This is the cause of most “connection failed” messages. If people cannot reach your server, check the ping on it for "9999". If you see "9999", then you are stuck behind your firewall and will need to take action in the firewall software to let people have access to your server.
    • In game server browser list not showing all servers. In game server browser shows about 100 servers, steam server browser shows over 1000. Fixing this.
    • Icon to show that a server has Perks and perk stat tracking enabled isn’t showing up. Fixing this.
    • Server browser filters not working right (also adding the ability to filter by difficulty).

    Other items
    • Wait time after match ends – going to shorten this so you don’t have to wait so long before the map changes.
    • Proper defaults for Difficulty/Game Length – right now it defaults to Beginner/Short, changing this to Normal/Medium.
    • Dead enemies disappearing instantly on a Listen Server for other players. Fixing this.
    • Game not showing up in Gamespy. Fixing this.
    • Listen server doesn’t show that you are playing, so others can’t connect to the listen server host using Steam friends (potentially a longer term fix that won’t be out today).
    • White list of mutators - creating a white list of server mutators that can be used while still allowing perks.
