Killing Floor Interview with Hell Descent Plus New Screens

A new interview with the Killing Floor team just went up today at Hell Descent, a website dedicated to all things survival horror. A few new details were shared about the upcoming team based survival horror title from TWI. In addition a few new screenshots were also revealed.
There seems to be a pretty well thought out back story to KF. Will it be apparent while playing?

    Alan Wilson:
Everything fits with the back story, but we aren’t trying to build up the big, long-running single-player campaign thing with KF. The focus is on each individual scenario, each map. Good clean slaughtering of poor defenseless zeds. We’ll probably roll out some of the back-story for fun, either on the KF website or, perhaps, through a suitable website!

Myles Lambert: There is some basic story to KF and all the maps and characters are linked in to the story well. Although we spent much more time working on the layouts and gameplay of maps rather than spending time building a link to the story. Killing Floor is more about short bursts of senseless slaughter of specimens, rather than a long-drawn out story-line and plot!

Want to know just how many of the specimens will be on screen at once? The default is set to 32, but you can go much higher. The team states that if "you want to go crazy and you have a beefy computer, you can set it to up to 800 specimens at once in sandbox mode, which will also enable you to configure your own wave setup. Good luck with surviving 800 specimens at once." Remember that the 32 figure is for how many are on screen at once, not how many will spawn with each wave.
