</div>Ubisoft announced today that a new release in their Ghost Recon series will arrive in the first quarter of 2010. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 4 will be developed by Ubisoft, but beyond that not much else is known.
The latest Ghost Recon title was released as "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2" which leads some, namely Kotaku, to believe that Ghost Recon 4 is merely a placeholder title.
There is no word yet on whether Ghost Recon 4 will play more like the original titles in the Ghost Recon series, or more like those in the Advanced Warfighter titles.
