IGN had a nice sit down with Valve's Doug Lombardi in which he talks about future Team Fortress 2 updates, Left 4 Dead, microtransactions, and the potential for PC controllers with a "Steam" branding.
Microtransactions are still being tested on Counter-Strike in the Asian market. There's no definitive answer yet on whether or not that payment option will make its way State side.
We're going to keep moving forward with that and moving on to more classes, giving them a similar update as we gave for the medic," Lombardi said. "We'll be talking about that in the next couple of months and I'd imagine there'd be a release out this summer. There'll probably be a new map that goes with it as well."As for those "Steam" branded controllers, Lombardi states, "It's actually something that, I mean there's nothing to announce yet, but it's something we're definitely looking at."
