    Video Games Caused 9/11

At least, according to Jack Thompson, video games did. SK Gaming has an article up about the documentary "Moral Kombat." Jack Thompson, along with others, is in the film, giving his usual line about video games, predicting that games will cause more massacres.

The documentary also, as the headline for this post suggests, claims that video games caused 9/11. Games such as Halo, Call of Duty, and Half-Life 2 are shown in the film. In my opinion, it's ridiculous to believe that games cause violence - perhaps it contributes, but it is not the sole cause of violence that happens today.

People who play video games, especially puzzle-type games, are shown to be smarter when they grow older.

Apparently, Jack Thompson didn't play enough video games as a child.

As with the many flawed things of today, this video is just simply ignorance. The people are ignorant, the producer is ignorant, and the subject claim is ignorant. Best way the gaming community can handle this is too complete ignore the video [ignorance].

Oh yes, video games causes all of our problems and we blame video games for all our problems. It's sad to see people put the blame on popular types of entertainment over the years. People should really have some common sense.

Yeah, he needs to get a new direction in life . I love how they think WoW is voilent I play that and well I guess it could be but... doesn't mean I'm go kill people.

My boss and I are game dev. and we're not going to change the way we make games just because people don't know the differences between real life and a computer screen or t.v. screen... Seriously all this blame games and the people who play them is bullshit and those who do it need burn in... Burn in a firey hole...

Yeah right as if people in Durkastan could afford to buy a pc to play computer games in the first place.

I hope Jack doesn't expect the gaming industry to completely change because of his ridiculous opinions that apparently are based on bullshit statistics or no statistics at all.

If majority was looked at in regards to violent people and those who aren't violent that play video games, you will undoubtedly see immediately that games do not cause violence. If you have mental issues or some type of crazy mindset, games may/will contribute to your already violent and unstable ass. Anyone with any stable mindset and some sort of intelligence would see this.

Too bad you can't buy intelligence and sell ignorance on eBay (and skill for those of you who couldn't kill a standstill, weaponless enemy with a full Para clip)

                  kk, thnkz.

Video games are just entertainment and criminals are going to be playing games, listening to music, watching movies, and reading books. What someone does to entertain themselves doesn't transform their persona.

Hmm... My brother owns City of Heroes... I just caught a glimpse of that in the documentary... Should I burn his copy of the ultra-violent game before he becomes a psychotic, delusional, and cold-blooded murderer? I mean, it's the right thing to do... Isn't it?

"We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be."

What a complete and utter load of crap. Unless, like Thompson, what you're pretending to be is a clueless jackass.

"we are what we pretend to be". No matter how hard Thompson pretends to be a lawyer taken extremely seriously by his peers...

Blame the parents for letting "nine-year olds play games that reward them for killing cops". Don't blame the video games.

If they're going to blame video games, then they might as well blame movies and television shows as well. Those feature REAL humans involved in violence that's much more REALISTIC than textured 3D models.

Yes burn it with fire. Then kill your brother before he strikes!

Serious question how much media air time do these people get over in the US? From what I've seen the in UK its pretty much nil.
