    CSPromod Bug List

A rather large list of bugs has already popped up for CSPromod, a mod for the Source engine that was just released a few hours ago. From what I've been reading on their forums, the initial impressions have been less than stellar.

But hey, here are some screenshots!

    My thoughts:

If you want 1.6 gameplay, stick with 1.6. If you want Source graphics and gameplay, stick with CSS. This is NOT the best of both worlds, and CSP is certainly not the future of Counter-Strike.

And don't give me the "it's only in BETA" line either. How long has this been in the works? They had everything basically handed to them in terms of maps and models go, and it still is a horrible experience.

No offense Zips but we know what you're opinion is and it's kind of tiring seeing you rip on it in 2 news posts already.

Tiring? I hope you get used to it, because this is a poor release.

I don't think I'm alone in thinking this either.

You are an utter douchebag zips, you scream BETA BETA LOL BETA everyfuckingtime something that interests YOU is released but not a true beta like this?

You know damn well why CSP is made out of necessity, valve will NOT let anyone use 1.6 on tv for any reason at all.

This isn't even worthy of a BETA tag. Alpha, at best.

And no, it's not out of necessity outside of those who cry any time the smallest of changes are made to CS or CSS. This was made for those who hate change. Guess what? Stick with 1.6 then if you want the old gameplay. This isn't even worth it.

It blows my mind that people even still play 1.6

What exactly is the argument against source?

This is a beta, because you say it isn't does not make it so.

This is the first few hours of the BETA 1.0 being released for bug testing and already you show off your tyrant bullshit.

Hate change? Yeah, I hate it when they change the game so much it is nothing like the original version. 'Changes' like you dumbly assume, are not always for the better.

I can play either game perfectly well, I have played multiple seasons of CAL-M/CAL-I CS:S and I can tell you the people who play in it are no place close to the skill level of 1.6 counterpart, close to a good record CAL-IM 1.6 team at best.

Is it the fault of the player? No.

The game sets up a skill wall, which after hitting it turns into randomness. So if you like playing games with no skill and a large random factor (HEY TF2) then stay the fuck away from the game not involving you.

It blows huge chunks, and no amount of pretty graphics can save it's terrible gameplay?

Why put words in my mouth?

I enjoy the fact SOMEONE has stepped up to the plate and is making the game for the people that keep it alive instead of people like you who only ruin it.

The game obviously won't stay with bugs in it, it wasn't made by valve.

TF2 is a fluff game, if you can't see it then you are even worse than I assumed.

No, this beta is NOT the product of 2 years work, the first csp project was announced 1~ year ago, since then 3 different teams have started/stopped work on the mod until we have what we have now.

That means the mod has been attempted three different times now and it was done in a small amount of time compared to what you think.

Oh, I ruin it? Please, enlighten me and the rest of the readers exactly how someone who posts news could possibly ruin a title that he does not attempt to influence in any way, shape, or form? I'm not like the vocal minority that is the "pro" scene who lashes out whenever something big OR small is changed that they do not like, and God help me if I ever am like that.

Until now, I have not been vocal about my disdain for anything CS related. But this is quite the eye sore, and I'm NOT just talking about graphics.

You are the first, and I presume, ONLY person who even tried to say that. No, you're wrong. It's really as simple as that.

TBH I want to be pissed at the people who made CSP too. But I really think it was made by people who loved 1.6, but have never ever done any programming, or understand anything about the process of learning programming at all.

It's purely a labour of love by people who will never, ever, be hired to work with computers... Ever. So I commend them for trying, and maybe they'll be able to iron something out. But this is a little ridiculous, and a normal person should've been able to make something like this by themselves in a month.
