Keep in mind, this is already a redesign of the original. The original being nothing but an orange background with text as an overlay.

I think they needed to start again when they lost a box. There's no need for colour coding any more.
I can understand why they're trying to keep it simple though. Must be a pain in the ass fitting all those game names on and making it look decent.

Like the famous quote from Starcraft, "[Pssh] Aaah... That's the stuff."

Possibly VGBoxArt?

Just has Episode 2 though, rather than all 3 + HL2/Ep1.
Anyways, three designs (but not the first one on the left) have Portal and Team Fortress 2 mentioned in the description on the back of the box (though I will admit it's an insult to treat the other two games like they're throwaway games with mere cheap text). Petergriff06's design (last one on the right) is the only one that used screenshots from the trailers/teasers of Team Fortress 2 and Portal (and mistakenly called Portal a multiplayer online game, regardless of the developers expressing interest in it for the future).
It's true those two games are not really advertised like Episode 2 is, but the artists were under the assumption that Episode 2 was the main product, with the other two as bonuses. As for HL2/Ep1, the artists didn't know at the time that we're forced to keep (well sell is the more accurate term heheheh) HL2/Ep1 when getting the other three products.

In my opinion fitting all three of those games on the front of a box is too much. Pick one, make it the theme of the box, and mention the other two in text at the bottom.
