43 people were murdered while shopping last week in Iraq when a bomb went off. I hate to be the person pulling the, "people die all the time" card, because it's so lame, but seriously, who gives a shit? That bomb wasn't nearly as big of a deal in the news as Imus.
Because I have a heart.
You don't need to post this. Especially when it's covered by faggots everywhere on the internet already. Within hours of the shooting I saw threads of people going, I BET THEY'LL BLAME VIDEO GAMES...as though that's what they should be thinking when someone gets shot. Oh, 32 people just died? I hope this doesn't effect my video games. The news has really irked me the last couple months for some reason so I apologize for ranting, but damn.
It's not about having a heart. It's about having perspective.Comment

How do 43 people dying in an explosion correlate with having a heart? Good question!
I said who gives a shit to this being news, and you responded by saying that you give a shit and it's news because you have a heart. Now you're telling me it's news because it's about video games? So you have a heart for video games and not people? I'm confused.
This videogame "debate" is seriously overdone and doesn't really need to be brought up again. I wouldn't mind this if it wasn't every few months that I see some stupid article and thread with people going WHY ARE THEY BLAMING VIDEO GAMES? There really needs to be a generic reply for forum posts like that. Video games aren't in any danger of going away. What the judges say in their decisions have been far more impressive than anything I have seen written by people in the video game camp (seriously, go look at some of them, they defend video games far better than you can imagine).Comment

... Correlate to video games. You missed the point entirely. The war in Iraq is justified. Yes, it's tragic, but people enlisted knowing full well what could be the ultimate consequence. You don't go into college with the same mindset that you could be killed at any time because some idiot decides he wants to have exact his revenge from his unfaithful girlfriend.
You also do NOT see the war being blamed on games.Comment

The 43 people that died were just civilians shopping. Are you saying they know they may get blown up when they go out shopping so we shouldn't feel bad? That the mindset for shopping over there is different from going to college over here? I'm not sure I buy that. Getting ripped apart while going about your business at a market because some person is angry that you live in a town with a different religion (this bombing was targeted at civilians as part of the Iraqi civil war) seems a little unfair. It seems just as unfair as getting shot while in class because someone is mad at their girlfriend. In both cases, people who aren't involved are getting killed just for the hell of it.
Let me say it again, I said who gives a shit to this being news, and you responded by saying that you give a shit and it's news because you have a heart. So I say, what about this other horrible tragedy. Where was your heart then? And you responded by saying that it didn't relate to video games.
Are you seeing the problem with that? The conclusion is that when you said you have a heart I thought you meant for people but you meant you had a heart for videogames.
Again, sorry about pulling the "people die all the time" card earlier (which I guess has pretty much been what my gay argument has been from the beginning). It just annoyed me deeply to see how tragedies like that--especially since they're in a country that we're so involved in so we should be especially concerned for their wellfare--are smaller news than "nappy headed ho's". Peoplekeep talking about "the war in iraq" as though it's just a talking point and saying "We should get 'em out of there", but they never bring up recent events in Iraq when talking about it. Everytime someone brings up the War in Iraq they should mention recent events over there. I haven't let it get under my skin since like middle school, and I don't know why this did now. It's just, there are 150 dead in Iraq today from a string of bombings ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6567329.stm )and the top 7 news stories on cnn are shit about the shooting before the next two about the Supreme Court upholding a ban on partial birth abortion and the Iraq bombings. I don't need to know that someone was scared in the shooting. I don't need to know that the gunman in a murder-suicide was suicidal. It's just annoying me.Comment

Gpig, Zips may have a heart and will report news not strictly related to video games, but he can't report things not related to video games at all. I think that's simple enough a concept.
As this is the only site I read that links news of this sort (video games and how they relate to the tragedy), I don't mind these posts.Comment

But Thortok, the deaths are NOT related to video games at ALL.
Just because a crazy bitch played a videogame does not mean he killed because of shooting an AK in counter-strike.
The millions of other people playing videogames who DON'T kill people must be a stick of dynamite ready to explode!~Comment
