So, back on topic...
I don't think it's Gabe Newells place to be criticizing one particular console in this manner.

My predictions are that Nintendo is going back to it's nes and snes roots and just making fun games (That aren't overly childish). That PS3 wants to set a new landmark in console graphics (but nobody can fully utilize the processing power yet, forecasts are at 50% of the system load for the best games released currently) and the 360 is just playing the market to win, the 360 is playing a political game to take over the market. Not a surprising turn of events considering MS does the same thing with their software.Comment

i used to have the exact same opinion as you
I personally think Nintendo failed from the get-go.
See, that's the beauty of opinions, though.
I'll stick to my normal controllers for the time being 'kaythanks.
i played my friends wii, and it totally changed my opinion

If I may compare your calculations to masturbation, they probably understate how much "repetitive back and forth" the hand does over the years. And it still remains fun. So will the Wii.omgomgz wrote..
There's like one game where you might have to wave your hands around for hours, and that's Wii sports. But complaining that Wii sports makes you have to do so much energy is like saying that going outside and playing baseball is too hard.entRo wrote..
If I'm reading this right, basically it sounds like the point you're all getting at is that daily masturbation strengthens your hands/arms to the point where you can do 12 hour Zelda marathons and be a baseball superstar. Next time mom walks in on you kiddies, just tell her you're excercising.
You must think there's alot more movement going on than what's necessary. Small flicks of the wrist are fine, and after a 12 hour Zelda marathon on the Wii, my arm/wrist/hand was not tired in the slightest.
On a slightly more serious note, saying "Wii is better" or "PS3 is better" is really a pointless argument. One is better for your tastes, the other might be better for the next person's tastes. You can argue "better graphics" or "more innovative controller" and have something to talk about (though both of those are pretty clear already). "Better" is just such an inspecific word that it really has no more merit than an argument over whether chocolate or vanilla is a "better" flavor.
I did find a bit of amusement in Gabe accusing another company of losing track of what its fans really want. Coming on the heels of annoucing advertising in CS, for instance, the irony is rich and thick. From what I've heard the PS3 is a nightmare to develop for, but that's really a completely separate issue from what a company's fans (as opposed to developers) do or do not want.Comment

I couldn't agree more. As I stated earlier, the comments made by Gabe were in poor taste. Everything else you mentioned would be enough to satisfy a debate between intellectuals...unfortunately I don't think that that is the case ;p

besides, on the Wii Sports Tennis, it really doesn't matter how hard you try to "hit the ball", it goes the same speed every time you "hit it". My opinion, but perhaps it's just the game, "the motion sensor is too simplistic to imitate hitting a tennis ball with a racket"
Besides, PS3 AND XBOX 360's HD 1080p > Wii's ED 480p
btw- I bought a Zune over a WiiComment
