    Congratulations to Rizzuh

Over at Shacknews, I noticed they had a little article on the finalists for the Independent Games Festival (IGF) Student Showcase. None other than CS-Nation's own John "rizzuh" Jensen finds a little spotlight with his part in helping to create the game Toblo. Out of a total field of 102 entrants, Toblo finds itself as one of the ten finalists in the 2007 Student Showcase.
DigiPen Institute of Technology was the only school represented multiple times, with its teams grabbing three finalist slots. Each finalist will receive a $500 stipend, and the overall winning team will granted a $5000 award when the IGF ceremony is held on March 7 during this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
DigiPen, the institute that brought you the Portal team, just keeps pumping out the talent. Congratulations to rizzuh and the rest of the Toblo team for their achievement of making it as a top 10 finalist!

Well, DigiPen IS a major game-making university, after all. I wonder if anyone can show me a course list?

I'm guessing it'll work if you use Hamachi.

I looked into Digipen before, since being a video game programmer is my aspiration, but last I checked (which was years ago), it was not accredited...meaning if a game developer didn't snatch you up, you just wasted a lot of time and money getting what most places would not consider a degree.

                          Has that changed?

Apparently it has, since 1996. Wow, was it over a decade ago I looked? I don't think so, but they probably just didn't mention it on their website when I looked.

Digipen's looking a lot more interesting. Hmm.

Thanks for the head's up. While we're on that subject, are there any other 'gaming' colleges I should look into?

Toblo was used as the main picture for Kotaku's news piece about this:
