    CPL Releases Their Own Anti-Cheat

Deciding to take anti-cheat measures into their own hands, the CPL has just unveiled their own anti-cheat system, conveniently called the CAL Anti-Cheat System (ACS).
The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) announced the initial release of a software compliance solution for its online league, the Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL). The CAL Anti-Cheat System (ACS) is a multi-game solution that will ensure fair competition in CAL tournaments and CPL online qualifiers.

CAL is pleased to offer its registered members an opportunity to experience ACS through a special preview edition, available at www.caleague.com/acs/.
Feedback can be provided, with more information being found at the CAL ACS website. The ACS will be in use in the upcoming CS1.6 season (after the 2006 Championship Finals) and in all CAL divisions.

ACS.. so I guess you could sound it out as "axe". Lawl. The CAL AXE.

"Shit. Banned by the CAL axe."

Roofle. The name could be a hit. Who cares how well it detects cheaters? Half of the planet will think it does, half will think it doesn't, regardless.

#3 Your syllogism is not accurate as I'm not British. Maybe rephrase it to:

Most British people say "Cheers." Some former British colonies occasionally may also use the term "Cheers." Angel is either British or from a former British colony. That does it! :)

Whoa! I would love to go to that event one day, but this year I've only got the funds to get to East Coast LAN, which happens to be around the same date and I've got a large crew of friends coming with me. I'll catch it on DirecTV, at least.

Good to see that CAL finally has it's own anti-cheat. Hopefully it's not as terrible as CEVO's.

I had trouble getting on to report match results earlier - So it looks like it went down randomly..

One question: Will you be skimming the internet, using things like typing the phrase "CAL ACS hacks" into google, finding hacks that successfully bypass your program, silently finding a way to detect those who use the hack, and then slapping a ban on everyone you recorded hacking? Without ever announcing how many and/or which hacks get detected?

If so, rock on. I think you'll see about 60% of the lowest, most open level of CAL, dropping out pretty dang quickly. Pretty much every rank above that will probably only have 3-5% hackers, in my opinion.
