The news update for this week is short and to the point. There's mention of the DoD: Source update that I have kindly posted right below this news piece. There is also mention about the Leipzig Games Convention where new footage for Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2 will be shown, and that footage is promised to be released to the public shortly afterward!
Oh yes, there seems to be a mention of this game called Counter-Strike: Source and some update dealing with an enhanced radar and changes to the pricing system. Maybe you guys have heard something about this? I really haven't been following this whole Counter-Strike thing.
I'm really anxious to see this new gameplay footage for all three of those games. Strangely, I'm probably the most excited about the updated Team Fortress 2 footage. Hopefully some gameplay elements will be featured this time around. Episode 2 should hopefully feature some amazing visuals that are even better than what we previously saw. There are a lot of advancements being made to the Source engine, so it should be interesting to see how Episode 2 benefits from them.
Oh, here's a bit of a side note. If you haven't seen Snakes on a Plane yet, stop reading this and get to your local theater. Remember that you're going to see Snakes on a Plane, a hilarious action flick that has snakes and yes, they are on a plane with Sam Jackson. That's all you really need to know to enjoy it!

Today we released an update for Day of Defeat: Source that addresses a number of issues people were having with the game. Details of this release are available here.It seems as though the months of no Counter-Strike: Source love will be a thing of the past once these new updates begin to roll out. It seems as though there is a focus on advancing the game beyond its 1.6 and Condition Zero roots. While some, like me, may see this as an advancement and a chance to really differentiate itself from its predecessors, I'm sure others will be quick to disagree. It's probably best to reserve judgement until the updates are actually released, right? Naaaaw!
Next week we'll have another Counter-Strike: Source release, where we'll be unveiling the new radar that was first mentioned here. We're looking forward to seeing how people like it, along with how it will change gameplay. Looking beyond this release, we'll be taking a look at the economy of Counter-Strike and how we're pricing weapons.
Around Valve these days, the Leipzig Games Convention is the focus of everyone working on Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. Coming out of next week we'll be releasing some of the new footage for everyone to see.
