The latest Steam news update hits you hard and fast with a bunch of pretty graphs and charts! Can you handle it? Can you?! Well, hopefully you can because this update focues on the data gathered from Episode 1, and provides some details on Red Orchestra, which had a massive update released today.
As part of Valve's continuing effort to build better games, we have traditionally relied on things like written feedback from players to help decide which improvements to focus on. More recently, Steam has allowed us to collect new kinds of information. Episode One includes a reporting mechanism that tells us about how people are playing the game. We're sharing the EP1 gameplay stats data because we think people will find it interesting, and because we expect to spot emergent problems earlier, and ultimately build better products and experiences as a result. Let us know what you think.Looks like Episode 1 had an average completion time of right around five hours. Despite the complaints from people who finished in less than three hours, it seems as though the average hit the mark for what Valve promised.
Today the first content update for Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 was released. The update combines bug fixes, performance enhancements, various updates requested by the community and 2 new weapons - the German MP41 Submachine gun and the Russian M44 rifle with a bayonet. This is the first in a series of free content updates Tripwire has planned for Ostfront in the coming months so stay tuned for more.
