    Episode 1 Dated

The first expansion for Half-Life 2, Episode 1, finally receives a set release date. That date? Why, it's May 31st, 2006 of course! This news comes from a Game Informer Online article.
Game Informer Online just grabbed some exclusive news on Half-Life 2: Aftermath. The highly anticipated expansion will be released on May 31st via Valve’s Steam distribution, for only $19.99. We recently spoke with Valve’s Gabe Newell about the release, and he claimed that it took him about seven hours to play through Aftermath. We will have a full interview Newell coming soon, so don’t miss it!
Etched in stone and delivered with love. That's how we do things around these parts.

Well, if Gabe played through the thing, that means um, it's done. So, this is kick-ass news. Damn, that's cheap too, sweet.

sounds like a good price, though i heard it's not quite as long as a typical expansion pack... ah well, can't wait.

I thought 4/24 was the official release date and this is a delay? Oh well.

I guess we can expect Episode Two in 2007.

To the guy above, it's supposed to be 6-8 hours in length.

$19.99 for a 4-6 hour game distributed over the web, where Valve isn't paying for publishing and boxing, is highway robbery.

I have to agree this a ripoff. This game should be between the 10-15 dollar range.

I think the price is fair enough.

What really grinds my gears is I can't use PayPal with Steam to order games.

it'll probably be worth the few hours it takes to download on a torrent, but almost assuredly not worth $20.

i say these quote "expansions" games should be free to all half life 2 customers -.-`

even if so, $20 is a rip off. valve might as well stick a gun at my face and steal my wallet.

I bet is around four hours of play. (when has valve ever lie to us? Too many times) If I pay $20 for this thing I'm going to time my play!. Just so I can come back here and bitch that it was only 4 hours of play. ...but I still like it!

Like I said before, HL2 would be the last Valve product I buy. Meaning I'll pirate HL2: EP1 :P
