If this is now episode 1 of Half-Life 2, then what was Half-Life 2?

Well, I would rather play a very deep 20 hour single player game that kicks ass
You obviously must not be talking about HL1 & 2 then. I doubt they even added up to 20 hours together.

It's not like they changed how long the game is, rejects. They changed the name and hinted that more of them will be released. So let's recap. You get Aftermath + more every so often. Why is there dumbass complaining? They basically let loose the fact that there will be even more HL2 after what was previously called "aftermath" and people are complaining. LOL! ONOES MORE HL2 RAWRR!! ANGST!!

You're all retards. Its been stated since day one that it will be episodic content, and that Aftermath will be the first one. Its a simple name change, the content is the same that has been talked about for almost a year.

I' am slightly disappointed with the name change, but at least we're getting something to play later this year.

I believe PC Gamer stated: "It took me roughly 17 hours to complete the game, but I could easily -- easily -- see that playtime creeping into 20-plus hours considering all the nooks and crannies there are to explore."

Yes, episodic content was announced from the first goddamn day. How the fuck is it a bad to have a HL2 "expansion" coming out every year? This is basically like Half-Life 1 and its two expansions. You shitflaps. Stop complaining.

I don't really care too much.

As long as one 30 dollar expansion doesn't become 3 20 dollar episodes. Given their pricing strategy of "screwing everyone who didn't buy HL2 silver when they had the chance", I wouldn't be too suprised.

Your all acting like its just been announced. Idiots... its been known that it will be episodic for the past year. 1 1/2, almost.

Fuck that, if they do switch it to "episodic content" then they've lost a very valuable customer.

Thanks alot Valve. Just when I thought you couldn't screw the game up any more.. and just because you like the idea Kerosine, doesn't mean everyone else will. You jack ass.
Apparently I'm one of the few people who thought about what "Episodic" means and realized it's not a big change at all. No one's forcing you to buy the episodes anwyay, so I don't know why anyone is gonna be pissed off. If you were planning on buying "Aftermath" you still can, its not like they are gonna chop it up into little segments now and force you to pay 3x as much for it. They'll charge you for what used to be Aftermath and is now Episode 1, and then they'll produce another expansion and sell that as Episode 2. If you feel like the content isn't worth the price, then don't buy it. You're acting like your basic rights as a consumer are being trampled on.

meowmewo, throwing insults around online does not make you cooler.

Dude.. I don't care alright.. I want to play a game that's between 10 - 20 hours, not 30 minutes every god damn year. And this is STEAM we're talking about, you'll have to be ONLINE TO PLAY EVERY GOD DAMN VALVE GAME..

Man.. this is total bullshit.. and I HIGHLY doubt they'll release the "episodic content" via retail, they'll just make this shit online only, you pay for it online and you play with it while online.

I'd rather just buy Battlefield 2 and suffer with DICE's crappy online support. Way to go Gabe, you da man.

What the hell are you talking about? Aftermath will be released via retail... and once your done installing it you can put Steam into Offline mode.

Obviously, CS and DOD have to be played online. Idiots...
