Whoa. Updating steam platform files and it lags my Athlon 3000 computer to hell. Took a good 10 seconds for task manager to open to set steam.exe to BelowNormal priority.

        :/

Another thought... the "History" tab in the server browser is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
Then you'll be even more pleased to know that it's not at all new, and usually does not work.

it's cool to see SourceForts on that list in the pic. www.sourcefortsmod.com

            head tester. :)

You misunderstood. I had to set it to BelowNormal because it was lagging my computer to hell.

azzor, did you press the little arrow in the corner?

edit: hmm, I thought RDKF was going to be free? :o

It only uses a lot of the CPU when updating to the new platform for some reason. Other than that, I haven't noticed it using any once fully loaded. Maybe some if you move the Steam windows around really fast across your desktop the CPU usage will shoot up again.

I also think it's listed as one of the bugs on the Wiki page.

Looks really good, I just wish they'd spend more time fixing the games though than farting around with the GUIs. One more thing though, I know the whole point of Steam is for people to distribute games, but is there an option that allows us to disable being informed of new games (We don't all want to here about the new nintendo stylee rehashed games.)

DaRk-AnGeL, you referring to settings -> Messages -> Notify me "My Games" / "Upcoming and new releases" that section or something different?

entRo, let me rephrase. The working history tab is a beautiful thing. :P

As far as the "big and clunky" comment, I'm assuming (hoping?) that skins will be able to fix that, but we'll see. That is, of course, if you're just referring to the extra-wide margins in the mini-view, not just lamenting the expanded view.

As far as Supersonic^'s comment about CPU usage, I haven't had any problems in this area, but it wouldn't be the first time that bug has affected a few users. Odds are it'll be addressed before the final release. Gotta love betas, eh? :)

It's grrrrrrrr8. It's gonna allow valve to become a distrubitor for non-valve games. I was worried about what would happen when Pirates of the Burning Sea comes out. The last thing I would want is a non-valve MMORPG that doesn't play over dialup, sitting on the top of my play games list. Now games I don't want are hiding in the store or the expanded play games menu.
