I really don't like the new model, the whole model. The old one was good because it looked average, he wore pants that weren't tucked into the boot, which looks really good. His head was pointy because he was wearing a mask, some masks don't fit on a head exactly, so it was a bit baggy. The animations for this new model suck as well, why the hell would u hold a gun with a scope at hip level?
enough about the new pos that valve landed on our door step, let's talka bout assault! Yay finally, I've been waiting for this fine pile of polygons we call assault to be built! Its going to be balanced too, I'm not gonna sleep when it comes out..

He holds it at chest level. Not hip level. It's around one foot higher. Also, how can you tell the animations suck for it? You've seen none of them.

First, you couldn't possily know what the animations of the model looked like yet. Second, the way the model holds the gun has ZERO % affect on gameplay. Whats with you realism whores anyways? Don't worry guys, I'm pretty sure it's not going to affect your score...

I just hope that they update the hostage AI. How can they add a new CS_ map without updating it. It just doesn't look or sound right at all.
I'm looking forward to cs_assault, and I really don't give a damn about the player models to be perfectly honest. I generally expect any truly good models to be made by the community, just like was the case with all previous versions of CS.
So, with that in mind, cool.

Yeah, it would be nice to have the CZ hostage AI in CS:S, I'll agree. Hopefully they'll add that to their "to do" list. :)

I don't care if I'm called a fanboy or not, I'm a fan of CS yes, and I'm just sick of all you whiners.. Atm I mostly play BF2, a game which has a lot worse hitdetection then CS:S imho, but yet hardly anyone is complaining about it, I wonder why??? I really think that even if CS:S was perfect you people would still find a reason to whine.. And if you think CS 1.6 is really that much better (which it isn't because it uses bassicly the same netcode with prediction & lagcompensation, I have plenty of personal movies/demo's showing old CS isn't perfect aswell when it comes to hitdetection etc), than by all means stick to that and leave CS:S as it is.. I have no trouble at all hitting and killing people in CS:S, and I don't notice any major showstopping bugs or issues with it aswell.. Sure offcourse I sometimes think wtf? But like I said I also had plenty of moments like that when I still played old CS 1.6.. I also have them in most other online games I play, like i.e. UT2004 instagib.. Stop blaming luck or misfortune on the game, it's as simple as that!
It's great they're giving us Assault, not that I'll play it, but it's a nice addition anyway.
The problem is, CS:S is basically an unfinished, unpolished game with tons of bugs and problems. Instead of updating a player model, why not focus on the core problems of the game? Just throwing out crap updates doesn't really do anyone any good, especially when there's tons of issues players have been screaming at Valve about since the game launched.. what, almost a year ago?
It's ridiculous that these problems havn't been fixed yet. I know you fanboys like to pretend they don't exist, and the hit detection is just as good as 1.6, but you're only bullshitting yourselves.
Don't plan on Valve listening to us and adjusting the game accordingly anytime soon.

I didn't know I had to be a programmer or a modeller to give my opinion. Next time, I'll make sure to check with you first dude.
I find it amusing when guys like entRo come along. How can you not laugh? It's obvious he has no background in programming, he's not a modeler, in fact the only thing he knows how to do is bitch.
But you probably wouldn't have cared if I said I loved CS:S and the model. Are there flaws in CS:S? Absolutely. Is VALVe aware of what the current complaints are? Duh. What then is the point of making a freaking pest of yourself to the rest of us here and acting like VALVe has wronged you by not instantly making everything exactly like you want it?
I was pretty much just expressing my total distaste for what Valve has done with CS:S. I'm not telling Valve to tweak the game in my favor, I'm asking that the PROBLEMS be fixed. The models really don't bug me much. Yeah, I think this one isn't very pretty, but no big deal. I hardly think that asking for the hit detection to be fixed is asking the game to be skewed to my liking. If you love BF2 so much, why don't you freaking spend your time playing it instead of trolling CSN comments? Seriously, how pathetic is that?
This is in the same vein as "lolol if you love pie so much why dont you marry it?" I'm glad we can all be witty middleschoolers around here, but come on.
I do like BF2. It has its fair share of problems as well, but I can hardly spend more than two hours playing the game in one sitting.
Hey, if you like CS:S so much, why don't you go play it instead of responding to comments? Thankfully, I'm talented enough to be able to stop playing BF2, and type on here, all without completely exhausting myself. I know it's hard to believe, but trust me. I can totally do it.As if your complaints change the speed at which VALVe will work.
I've seen Valve employees post on here before. Do you think the game would be fixed if we all just kept silent? I'll give Valve the credit of atleast listening to its customers. Action is another issue though. If this is the case, I really hope VALVe never "cleans up" this game. I'd rather have a few bugs and less model selection if it keeps the ungrateful, whiny assholes away.
Excuse me for being dissatisfied with a game that's been out for almost a year, has many problems, and still has promises to fulfill.
But I guess in your magical CS:S dreamworld, everything works great, but you're the only person there, because differing opinions are definitely a no-no.
Way to be a total ass.

You can most likely forget about any 100% fixing of the so-called hitdetection "problem" in CS:S.. Simply because old CS has the same problems and they got never fixed 100%, not even after 6 years.. So plz stop portraying CS 1.6 as "the perfect" CS, because it isn't!! CS was never perfect!!
It's not that big of a "problem" anyway, because it sure as hell doesn't stop anyone from beying able to play the game in a normal way.. A serious problem or bug is something that prevents people from playing a game, like crashing or features simply not working.. CS:S has none of that!! I can do nothing but laugh at people who say CS:S is unplayable because it beta and/or full of bugs.. Idiots..

never thought of it this way
I hope they don't ust that arctic model.
They should make all 8 or 10 player models look comfortable in all climates.
I hate seeing a guy wearing a snowsuit walking around in an aztec region. Or a guy wearing sleeveless shit walking around in arctic climate. That just makes it so unrealistic.
At least make the terror guy wear long sleeve shirts or something.

but ah well what you gonna do bout it
lol, i myself enjoy seeing a variety of models

I didn't say 1.6 was perfect, but the hit detection for 1.6 is a ton better than Source.

Maybe if you enjoy having to hope that your bullets will hit when you shoot on target, then yea.

part of all making the source engine was to improve the game a lot, and to make it seem more realistic GASP, realism is a big part of the new source engine and should be taken advantage of in all aspects fo the engine.

CS:S isn't supposed to be more realistic than CS. It's no more or no less realistic than CS is. It's supposed to have far better graphics, which it does. Having the gun slightly lower than it should be doesn't massively affect gameplay.
