I hope you know, the current "perfect" t model holds the ak already at the waist.
Okay and that gun is not a AK-47, its a sig552, and i downloaded something that makes the t hold the ak shoulder level

And as far as I know there haven't been any hikes in cheating bans recently
You wouldn't know, at all. So that means nothing.
CS:S has been out for even longer, and there are still only 2 models, one of which is the same from the beta, the other which is only slightly different
Slightly different? You should actually look at it before you say that. And just because one is from the beta, doesn't mean that it's automatically terrible because of that.
DOD:S is apparently just a conversion of DOD to Source, much like HL: Source. The only differences should be the obvious ones such as bump mapping or detail textures, higher quality textures, and possibly new models. This relatively small conversion should be out by now.
Relatively small? Everything you listed is a massive conversion. Oh, nothing but every model, texture and sound. WAIT A MINUTE! That's everything but mapping.
And they're just wasting their time with this HDR technology. The amount of people who have 6800's and x800's are quite a minority to the rest of the people who play their games, so they should work on that as soon as all the other crap is out of the way.

            http://www.steampowered.com/status/survey.html
They're not wasting their time. If they waited until "all the other crap is out of the way", they'd have a bunch of other crap in the way. HDR is the future. And, the % of people who have x800's, 6800's, 7800's, and will get them by the time HDR is supported by anything on Source is higher than say... the % of people who play HL2M as opposed to CS:S. Doesn't mean that HL2M was a waste of time.

Also, graphical updates in no way inhibit anything to do with mapping, modelling, etc. It isn't the same people who do everything at Valve. They have specific jobs.
            Lost Coast - Bolloks...

            DOD:Sauce - go play BF2

            Aftermath - Gheyness!
DoD:S is not like BF2 particularly.

And saying the other two are "Bolloks" and "Gheyness!" is hardly a valid arguement against them being made. If you'd like to post some real reasons as to why they suck and shouldn't have been made, please, post.

              Right on Salamandra! :)

I'd also like to add, about the level the model holds the gun at: WHO GIVES A FLYING F**K? That has about, lets see...ZERO % affect on gameplay.

Besides, since when have the view models (the weapon model you see from your perspective) in CS ever looked like they were right up at your face anyway? They haven't

Reading most of the comments here it reminds me why I don't play that much CS anymore since the end of 2003 (I occasionally still play CS:S atm).. I finally grew tired of whining that's always going on about the game etc.. The CS community must be one of the most inmature, ungratefull, and respectless gaming communities ever existed as far as I can tell with my 13 year online gaming experience.. Every single time CS gets updated and/or gets new content there is an endless stream of complaining & whining, and very little positive response.. It's just all a bit pathetic really..

Where have all the old 'real' CS fans gone to? The ones that enjoyed new content & updates instead of flaming it into the ground everytime? The people that played CS in 1999 in it's beta days? Most left overtime I guess, or got greatly outnumbered by the 'new'.. Anyway, the CS community went downhill every since the game went retail and got (to) popular imho..

FFS, be happy you get another map and more playermodels!!! Is it really that hard!!?!??

It's great they're giving us Assault, not that I'll play it, but it's a nice addition anyway.

The problem is, CS:S is basically an unfinished, unpolished game with tons of bugs and problems. Instead of updating a player model, why not focus on the core problems of the game? Just throwing out crap updates doesn't really do anyone any good, especially when there's tons of issues players have been screaming at Valve about since the game launched.. what, almost a year ago?

It's ridiculous that these problems havn't been fixed yet. I know you fanboys like to pretend they don't exist, and the hit detection is just as good as 1.6, but you're only bullshitting yourselves.

Don't plan on Valve listening to us and adjusting the game accordingly anytime soon.

Will there be any new weapons by any chance? I'm just wondering. As for the model, I think it looks rather nice, besides the huge head. As for assasult, I never really liked that map due to it being way to unbalanced (hardly anyone bother to rush the place). Could be me, but that's how I feel.

Yea. Just yesterday I was playing on scoutzknives and found that headshots came easier if i aimed slightly above the head. shooting somebody in the throat DOESN'T REGISTER A HIT. go try it yourself. no only that but a friend of mine who runs a server for hackers (weird, i know) told me that to use an aimbot to get a perfect headshot on a target with the scout, you have to set the bot to aim ABOVE THE MODEL. it's not just me. it's a coding area.

Shooting people in the neck is still killing them for me... dunno what's up with your cheating friend's server, but it's working fine for me. Not a headshot for a neck shot, but it's still a hit and blood flies.

                                Salamandra... well said.

I find it amusing when guys like entRo come along. How can you not laugh? It's obvious he has no background in programming, he's not a modeler, in fact the only thing he knows how to do is bitch.

Are there flaws in CS:S? Absolutely. Is VALVe aware of what the current complaints are? Duh. What then is the point of making a freaking pest of yourself to the rest of us here and acting like VALVe has wronged you by not instantly making everything exactly like you want it?

If you love BF2 so much, why don't you freaking spend your time playing it instead of trolling CSN comments? Seriously, how pathetic is that? As if your complaints change the speed at which VALVe will work.
Try it myself? Fuck that, I'd rather not touch CS:S again until it's cleaned up.
If this is the case, I really hope VALVe never "cleans up" this game. I'd rather have a few bugs and less model selection if it keeps the ungrateful, whiny assholes away.

Okay, rant done, flame away and call me a VALVe fanboy now. Common, you know you want to...
