Steam's Weekly News Update

While we're on the subject of games that aren't Counter-Strike, this week's Steam news update makes mention of Day of Defeat: Source and a deathmatch revival for Half-Life 1 source.

We've been pretty quiet about Day of Defeat: Source in the last few weeks. But new information and images from DoD: Source will be made available starting next week, as we lead to its release. We've been steadily working away on this project, and we're excited to see what everyone thinks of what we've produced.



In the coming weeks we'll also be releasing a Source revived version of Half-Life 1: Deathmatch. People who already own Half-Life 1: Source will receive this as a free download.

A Source version of the original deathmatch? Sounds like a great idea to me!

i love playing DOD, yet i only have the bronze package which only allows me to have hl2 and css. hopefully us bronze package users gets a chance to upgrade to a silver package allowing us to play DOD:S

a lot of stuff in HL1:Source still looks like shit they just upgraded things here and there, im not sure about gordon though..



anyway i started to lose interest in DOD:S but im sure that will change as it nears release, should be an awesome game.

I think the time for DoD:S may have come and gone... I don't know. The bar is getting pretty high for these kinds of games, and to charge money for a mod seems brazen.

HL1 Source is HL1 with physics and new water. Thats all, no new models or anything like that.
