Or they're the very miniscule amount of total idiots who don't use VAC proof cheats (remember this debate?). Honestly, unless Valve changes the way VAC detects cheats, it'll be just as uneffective as it is right now, no matter how many time it is updated. The way VAC works now cannot detect VAC proof cheats. It can cause them to stop working, but it wont ban the user. Once the cheats stop working, new ones will be up probably within the day with the same features.



Unless Valve plans on changing the way VAC works, don't get your hopes up folks.

Hah, sorry. After I posted that I realized that it'd be kind of buzz-kill for alot of you. But seriously, be realistic. And no, I don't cheat in public servers/scrimmages/matches. I only do it very occassionally with friends in private servers and they know what I'm doing. I also download cheats now and then to watch demos. That's it. I've speedhacked around in pubs like.. two or three times.

Tbh, valve is already monitoring hackers as we speak.

Seems the most obvious method.

And as soon as VAC comes out, bam bye bye.



But, I haven't seen a hacker in CS:S yet.

Even the ones playing suspcious are clean as far as I could see.

Playing for more then 6 years now, and i know a hacker when i see one.

entRo, we've had this discussion before and I'm sure neither one of us wants to get too far into it again, but I still say they're no reason to believe Valve hasn't adjusted their methods to detect the new cheats. I mean, they're not complete idiots. I'd imagine they've got the situation well in-hand.



And no, I don't have any more evidence than you do, so I suppose we'll just have to play the wait-and-see game.

if i were valve i'd just hook up with united admins and implement cheating death, perhaps in addition to vac.

Even IF there is an update... do you KNOW how easy it is to bypass vac? All you have to do is change a couple hex numbers and boom.

Well, there isn't any reason to believe that Valve has or will adjust their methods in this next update, because this isn't a new problem by any stretch of the imagination.

Yeah, I was just looking at the current state of the game, cheats, and VAC, and it's pretty evident that VAC is far from useful.



Really, I hope Valve DOES adjust the way VAC works. I'd gladly trade in the very few times I cheat with friends to be able to play a week of scrimmages without having some asshole blatantly cheating.

Don't come crying when you get banned.. HL2 keys are not (yet) as easy/cheap to get as HL keys were/are..

you notice they were confident about how they were releasing hl2 and the anti pirate measures, maybe they have something big in the plans. Don't underestimate valve whatsoever
