i hope the VAC update has been here for months and we haven't known it and everyone who has cheated will have their cd key BANNED! of course, that's a pretty unlikely event, but i'll still have hope.

There have been a few days where I could join a few servers in a row and there would be at least one blatent hacker on each. When I say blatent I dont mean, "omg he killed me three rounds in a row he must be hacking", more like, spinning circles on their screen, killing people through walls when they make no sounds.



Though I agree with Entro, you cant ever stop hacking completely, and VAC is becoming less and less useful as time goes on. But its nice to see the percentage of servers w/ hackers on them drop drastically after VAC is updated.

We have a HLTV always recording and broadcasting in our private server, so that when we scrim or play matches, we can look back on the demos if we think someone was cheating. We can use cheats and watch the suspected player with wallhacks to see more clearly if he really was cheating. Then, we blacklist the team and don't play with them anymore if it's obvious that their player was hacking.

I'm 99% sure it's for CS:S.. Because Doug said 'VAC will be here in the not too distant future..'.. Why would he say that about CS 1.6 that already has VAC? And why would Valve continue development in old CS 1.6 when they have a new version of the same game out? I wouldn't be suprised at all if Valve stopped development on CS 1.6 completly, to indirectly kindof force people to buy the new stuff..

We all know CS on the old HL-engine was/is cheatinfected.. I hope CS:S on the Source engine in combination with the new VAC will be alot more cheatproof, because that's the future of CS, not CS 1.6..

I don't see why what happens to 1.6 is unimportant, as CS:S is hardly half a game.
