    Half-Life 2 Demo Out

Update: The demo has been released and weighs in at a hefty 700MB.

In a Half-Life2.net forum posting by Cliffe, there will be a free demo of Half-Life 2 released later today.
    Half-Life 2 Demo Coming Today at 1:00 p.m. PST

A free demo of Half-Life 2 will be released later today. Featuring some of the amazing digital actors and physical gameplay that has made Half-Life 2 the leading contender for Game of the Year 2004, the demo takes players through some of the early levels of the game and later transports them to the area of the game known as Ravenholm. The demo will debut on ATI.com, and requires a Steam account to install. For more information about Half-Life 2, please visit www.half-life2.com.
If the tons of high praise and numerous awards for Half-Life 2 didn't sway you, perhaps trying the game out for yourself will lead you down the right path to gaming goodness.

no, you dont have to download it, just sign on to an account without HL2 on it, and then you can start playing the demo (that is if youve already downloaded the HL2 Preload content.)

Yeah, it doesn't have any extra levels. The only addition is possibly one of those "Did you enjoy this game? IF SO BUY NOW YOU CHEAP PRICK" screens at the end of the demo.

whatever happened to releasing a demo PRIOR to the game's release to drum up support? nvm, that'd make too much sense. ggkthxbye.

I'm sure if they released the demo first, I wouldn't have bought HL2. Sorry. I know a lot of people like the game a lot, and In my opinion it was OK, but I'm more of a Doom 3 guy.

Saying "ggkthxbye" is still cool and funny! You are funny and not a dork!

This demo makes House Party look like House Party 2!
