What's strange is that I'm running a 1300 AMD Athlon, Geforce4MX420, with 256mb RAM, playing HL2 on all medium settings and I get 60-70 fps pretty steady. Everything looks pretty nice too.

Took me about 10 minutes and I'm on cable. I got off school early today (testing nonsense) and did mine at noon Pacific time. Try it later on in the night or tomorrow, it's the first day so it's going to be really overloaded.

What exactly is the point in rushing through the game? Sure, you can claim you were the first to beat it or something, but isn't this about maximizing your enjoyment of the experience?

What's weird is, my brother played from midnight till 6:30 am, and then when I got home I played and was up to where he was in about 3 hours, and now I'm in Ravenholm with that lunatic and only in about 4 hours. Not sure whether I'm shooting through or not?



Also how frightening is the G-Man continually watching you from afar, such a great friggin touch!

Oh trust me, i've been "maximizing my enjoyment" since it was released this morning. I don't rush through things - and I wasn't exactly bragging about being the first to beat the game (which I'm sure I wasn't anyway). I was just saying "wow" at the game itself, it makes me want to go back and play the whole thing over again.

When you're at the dam, and you blow up the chopper, and ur on top of that thing unlocking the dam door, you see the G-Man at the corner of the dam?

The gman is there? He's been pretty hard to spot. The first time I saw him was just after I got the boat and at the first barn. And that was after I replayed the level, I didnt catch him the first time!
