well i just read the HL2 review on gamespot, and from what i gather, they only gave it a 9.2 rating because IT'S HALF-LIFE 2. they said what i've been bitching about from the beginning:



the game isn't as cohesive as the original

the story is dissappointing

there's not HL2 related multiplayer!!



they also introduced a new blemish:



the AI isn't as good as the original. WHAT THE FUCK? how can the AI not be as good as the original? you're telling me that in 6 years Valve has gone backwards in AI? that's retarded. hell, they could have just ported the original fucking AI code!



anything valve says = dick

Naturally my graphics card decided to die on me LAST WEEK and now I'm using a friend's 5200... So I have to wait like 4 days before I can get my card replaced and TRULY experience Half-Life 2. Curse you Batman!

Yeah, I have to agree with you on this. Gamespot seems to have all sorts of criticisms in their review and yet the score is still so high. It's kind of weird.



It just reinforces my belief that Gamespot is bought out by Valve, and that the whole "The Final Hours of Half-Life 2" is one big PR thing paid by Valve... sigh...
