The only way I can see HL2 not being completely awesome is if they didn't pay enough attention to player control, specifically character movement and looking around (with crosshairs). Have we forgotten the b-hop? I believe much of the reason HL1 and its mods are still so popular is because the controls are simple and comfortable.
