Everyone is celebrating, although im still waiting on that uproar coming from valve HQ, i wonder if they are all out partying themselves

I remember reading an interview with Doug Lombardi a couple of months ago where he said once the game went gold, all of the Valve staff would be going to Mexico to party for a couple of weeks. I wonder if that means they're going sometime between now and when the game is released, so they'll be back in the office to deal with any bugs or issues once the game is live. He also said something about drinking lots of Tequila while they're there. As an aficionado of fine Tequila myself, I'd recommend trying Herradura Seleccion Suprema, it's supposed to be the best in the world. I could go on and on about great Tequila right now, but this isn't the time or the place.



EDIT: Found the quote: "...the very first thing happening after the release of Half-Life 2 involves much tequila." I think the comment about going to Mexico was in a video interview, where he said they were all going there to get hammered after the game went gold, but I can't find a transcript of it anywhere.

Ive got a Radeon 9700 which works excellently, but it is generally in yellow or red on my fps counter and it dips to mid 20s in major shiny floor areas - basically I have £200 - what card should I get?

Yeah hopefully there won't be a gold leak now, but if there is at least there is no reason to delay it even more...



I'm hoping we will see Half-Life:Source remake in a week or so, at least before HL2 release so that we can be entertained in the meanwhile. This would also be good for people who never played the first half-life to get the story down before the big one...

I almost forgot: not to harp on Valve or anything, but where the heck is the SDK? It would be really great if it was released like NOW, so that mappers and mod-makers could get a head start before the game comes out.
