Valve probably didn't even own CS when the contract with VU was sorted out. So VU don't have a hold over CSS, just HL.

because css is not under contract with viv, only hl2 is. valve can do whatever they want with css.

Actually, I can. They nerfed all the guns except for the 2 guns they hadn't gotten right in any other version: 5-7 and the Project 90. Really, try to do it ALL right.

Something else just struck me while someone asked me a question about css + hl2.



Heres what I wrote back - its abit garbly cos I was writing it as I was thinking fast



Assuming it is released before hl2, the only way to get it would be to buy it through Steam.



Assuming its Hl2 multiplayer - Im sure Valve would somehow make it part of the `buy it through steam now + hl2 and unlock hl2 when its ready` cash fest.

If this so-called reliable source is VU Games, don't even think about getting your hopes up. Either way, it won't probably come out today anyways since it's already night on October 4. And to be notified one day before the release? That's seriously unrealistic, especially for Valve.

Hasn't it already been said by HLFallout that when you purchase CS:S sometime this week (tonight or not), basically you're buying HL2? Doesn't CS:S come with every HL2 package anyway?



I'm getting silver btw and I seriously hope that $55 USD mark is right, that's considerably lower than what I predicted
