Thats why my question was phrased in a negative manner.

I wasn't planning on getting hyped, but you CSN guys did it to me.

If you guys turn out to be wrong about having info from a source about you receiving info about the release or whatever it said, I swear, I will personaly squize myself into my cablemodem, ping myself to you, and woop your asses nerdninja style. You hear!? YOU HEAR?!!

/Technical-Joss runs around on his workfloor, screaming madly, as all collegues look at him and tell him to go easy on the coffee, but Technical-Joss doesn't care and starts pulling hair out of his ass to make time go faster

Anything Valve related with a release date I will never EVER believe.

It will be a nice suprise if true.

Do you think Valve will create some sort of backup game feature?

It could like dump all the gfcs into a huge zip - encrpyt it and then tell you to burn that file. Then say you install it on your laptop while on holiday you could connect at a cafe and it would decrypt the files.

Something similar, that way I wouldnt have so much beef buying through steam.

"According to a reliable source, we here at CS-Nation have been given information regarding the upcoming release of Counter-Strike: Source."

So "according to reliable source," you've received information about CS:S? Who else would know that CS-Nation received information about CS:S except CS-Nation? Wow :X

I'll still wait for the boxed version, that way if there are any bugs (ie if it's anything like the beta- yes). Most will be squashed by time I get it. Untill then I'll continue on my MMO's.

Still good news for any "fanbois" of CS.

edit: gumplunger- people like you complain about the immaturity of the CS community (and lets be honest here, when doesn't a conversation fall in the the simple realms of "fuck you", "fuck you too" & "gay"). But you go ahead and insult someone! Granted his post wasn't exactly shakespear but what kind of example are you setting to the kids?

According to a reliable source, we here at CS-Nation have been given information regarding the upcoming release of Counter-Strike: Source. We have heard that CS: Source is due for a release tomorrow, the 4th of October.
We will have to wait and see.

Just burn "your folder" within the steam directory onto a dvd or cd, then all you need to after a steam install is re-copy that folder to your hd within the steam folder & log into steam, anything that you have registered with valve under your user name will then be available.

personally think its pointless waiting for the "boxed" version, i mean you can make a dvd/cd as backup and it's not like you'll use the manual or run around flashing your hl2 box in peoples faces, i mean what would be the point ? you'd be wasting valuable time that could be spent playing it

but i think your suggestion would be good if they did add a feature in steam that would allow you to automatically create a dvd/cd backup of your steam folder, but i doubt this will happen so for now its got to be done the hard way :O
