ive always been able to download new drivers from Nvidia's site. my only problem was any new drivers i'd install would foul up my computer. i know what im doing in this department, and its just never made any sense why i couldnt update without everything going to hell. sooooo.... ....ive just stuck with my default drivers from the install CD. i know that sounds absolutely ludicrous, but thats the only way everything on my computer (video-wise) stays civil. ...beats the hell outta me why thats the case.

btw, in case people wonder, my (old and decrepit) setup is as follows:
AMD Athlon XP 1600+ (1.4ghz) | 512mb pc2100 ram | GeForce4 Ti4200 (64mb & default drivers)
...and im running source @ around 45fps with infrequent drops to the teens after the last update. and by the way r@ven, i ignored the popup to upgrade my drivers, had source crash the first time to desktop, but has worked like a charm ever since.Comment
