        i just read the article...and if VUG/Sierra just finish the release candidate out on shelves and let them sell for a bit then let Valve release it on steam.

                Its kinda gay that people who bought ATI wouchers get to play before the people who pre-ordered the game. Thats the whole point of pre-order.. to get before anyone else on the block/to reserve a copy for yourself before everyone else gonna take it. Since HL2 a HUGE thing, its gonna sell out in every dam store its gonna appear in for like first week.



                I say they should sell their boxes and manuals first, then leave the leftovers to steam and people who got the game free buy buying the gay ATI video card. *cough* did i just say that outloud? :o

                                    this is why i told many people not to preload hl2...



                                    now their considering canceling the hl2 on steam network because of lawsuit crap. wow...



                                    its just better to buy it in stores, u get a shiny box and manual that come with the game... and if your hard drive ever dies and u need to reinstall steam u wont have to redownload the game u can just install the cd. much faster



                                    just dont lose the cd ...rofl :P

                                        So the CZ delay after the gold announcement was because of this.



                                        Makes me wonder if that's why they had to change the regular CS models when you own CZ. Maybe those regular models were mentionned somewhere in a contract as property of VU (or maybe it was a legal grey zone). They changed all kind of small things withing the CZ version of CS 1.6 -> changes to be legally protected in regards to copyright infringement and contract breach with steam distribution and sales. Remember they gave a 10$ discount if you bought it through steam. Must have been a real "in your face" statement towards VU.



                                        Yeah, this seems to announce the end of the simple publisher era. They'll have to develop themselves (like sony) or come up with other tricks to stay in the competition. Cool with me.

                                                    well dunno but i think VU is trying to **** valve up, they shut down sierra, now i believe that sierra was under VU, and VU shut it down. before that, sierra staff were in control of publishing valve stuff, now its all in vivendi, but they're absolutely hopeless.honestly I hope valve goes and finds another publisher like activision, because VU just sucks.

                                                        Probably it will get delayed, but someone from VU will take a RC (they already have them) and copy it to a friend, and the friend to his friend... etc.... till everyone has it, so... valve and vu won't get any money
