I disagree with a lot of things that article was talking about ~_~.... Doom 3 is awsome, and doesn't need to be "When it comes to characters, Doom 3 fails miserably. Id tried fake character detail by overly relying on normal mapping." ripped on how crappy, I don't know what setting that guy was running, but my Doom 3, I did a lot of testing and looking around it its better than some of those pictures and things he was taking about... But I do agree HL2 does beat it in somethings.



Also that is kidda hard to compare HL2 to Doom 3. I would have suggested, HL2 to FarCry. Or Doom 3 to FarCry to HL2... Put FarCry in it and see who wins. w00t w00t.

hey guys you have to read the full article, he's played hl2, just like I have, and yes, it runs amazing on lower end machine while still looking amazing.



the hl2 engine is supposedly scalable too with many many aspects not used in the current source engine line up because our systems aren't ready for it.

Here is how i look at it... ID cares about their customers and doesnt make up random release dates and they make an effort to port their games to superiour OSes such as Linux and MAC. Windows is dieing and there is no point in making any more windows exclusive games Valve.... get your act together..
