No I don't mean an AMD 64 w/e bullshit who gives a fuck CPU and some graphics card that dosnt even matter on a server. Just don't do it.



AMD 64 wont handle the load. Most likly you all have like 512mb ram which isnt alot for a server. And then you go play on it which further LAGS the shit out of the computer.

The 9600XT is WAY better and if you can afford it try to get a 9800 Pro.

I played cs:s early this morning, running full sh*t, it was a little laggy, but nothing major, i was getting 26-40 ping, didnt check fps.



personally I just think CS:S is awsome,

I dont really care which side of the gun the casing comes out, as long as it kills the guy I just shot it,

Well....Best I could manage in the first hour in a half was to create my own server and check out the map/engine running around by myself.

Anytime I made a option change while in, the game locked up and I had to open it anew. BUT....I have to say I was impressed with what I saw. I've read peoples comments and I agree with the positive and the negative comments both. It was indeed problematic (I even totally lost sound once), but I'm sure all of these issues will be fixed before release. This IS why they did this BETA release. Much better choice than thinking it's ready when it's not and people having issues such as these with the "finished" game.

I will give it a shot this evening after work but expect a few days will go by before Valve has any tweak updates.

Very promising game though. The detail is great, Flashes look good, as well as the Frag, smoke and C4 blast.

Get to work, Valve! ; )

Netcode needs some work, once a few battles start across the level, bullets start to go missing... Though it could be the server stress (I haven't managed to see any server specs yet). VALVe should simply accept the fact the 56k is dead and tweak it for BB.



Some of the models still need some work, 5-7 for sure and I noticed the sig isn't finished either. There is no bloody clip!



gungrave2003: Start saving tbh, with a small budget you can prob get away with a new mobo, 9600 XT and another 512 stick of ram. To run it reasonably.

CS-Nation has never hosted files for CS releases in the past.

i cant pllay it as soon as it loads up, after like 1 second, it goes back to my desktop and closes CS:S. It doesent even give me a message box or nothing.....

What I meant was you had a lot of links, so people kept refreshing the page waiting for te release so they could click those links.



Now the only thing CSNation has is announcements and news, all files are automatically downloaded through Steam.



An by using Steam they can tell when CS:S is availably for play.

Despite all the negatives in this thread, CS-S ran perfectly for me. I found plenty of servers in the mid-west area with pings 20-30, and had no problems with fps :d I was pretty impressed, for a beta.
